My Reiki Truth
The aim of this website is to dispel some of the myths about Reiki and to show that it is available for anyone who wishes to use it. It is not just available to those who can afford to pay lots of money for treatments and attunements, and those that have the time to go away on courses. Reiki can be studied in your own home, in your own time.
I received my Reiki by Distant Attunements, for which I didn’t pay any money, but that doesn’t mean that there was no Energy Exchange between myself and my Reiki Master. I chose to repay him by working hard with Reiki, continuing to learn as much as I can, and passing on the gift of Reiki by treating and attuning others. I know that Reiki has worked for me, and my Reiki Master is happy with the work that I do in return for the gift that he helped me to receive.
I believe that you get from Reiki what you are prepared to put into it. Some people may pay for their Reiki attunements and then just expect things to happen without putting any effort into learning more, whereas others may receive free attunements and put a lot of work and effort into improving their lives and the lives of others.
If you do choose to request a free Reiki attunement, I believe that you should put the same amount of thought into it as you would if you were paying for it. It is up to you to study before you receive your attunement, and to study and practise daily after your attunement. You should choose your Reiki Master with care, make sure that they offer full support after your attunement, and are available to answer any questions you may have. Ask how long they have been practising Reiki, and if they provide a manual. Although most Reiki Masters offer these services, there are unfortunately a few that just pass on the attunements and then offer no further help or support.
