Digital Camera and much more expected for PSP 2
|
Just when video game players thought they had it all with Sony PSP, plans are on the way for the next PSP to bring it to the next level. The next PSP is set to take its Wi-Fi a step further taping into the streaming video market, and including breakthrough chat features allowing friends to stay in contact even on the go.

PSP 2 is expected to take advantage of new NAND flash storage, ranging initially at 4 GB of storage working its way up to 8, with the current PSP maxing out at only 1GB. Sony also anxious to make the portable media device slightly smaller and offering it in three variety of colors silver, white, and black. The add-on camera base will be a currently available unit, one already accessible with Sony’s Ericsson mobile phones. In addition to taking digital camera quality pictures it will also allow for live video recordings.

The PSP 2, it said also to be in conjunction with Sony’s Playstation 3 gaming console. The PSP streaming capabilities will annex with Playstation 3 through a Playstation HUB, expected to compete with Xbox live service. Although nothing has been confirmed yet as completely factual, the possibilities seem endless as Nintendo, Microsoft, and Sony strive for console and portable supremacy.

Mortal Kombat Unchained for the PSP
It's hardly the secret of the world but it's been a while since we heard anything about it. Originally scheduled for a release late last year, everything went quiet and it may have been assumed that this venture was dead and buried. Midway has recently revealed new information on Mortal Kombat Unchained, the first Mortal Kombat game to hit the PSP. Despite the new subtitle. Unchained is still pretty much a port of Mortal Kombat Deception, which hit consoles back in 2004.
For this title we can expect to see multiple fatalities per character and multi-tiered interactive backgrounds that we enjoyed in Deception as well as six new fighters. The game will offer playable versions Kitana, Jax, Frost, Blaze, Goro and Shao Kahn. The latter two were incidentally available on the GameCube version but it never reached PAL shores. Depending on your perspective, it's either better or worse that the Konquest has come to the PSP as well. Here, you can embark on a single-player mission with heightened character control, computer-controlled characters and hidden extras. It's good to know that Midway decided to include it, because it adds some meat to the title (even if it can be dodgy at times).
Chess and Puzzle Kombat have made it over as well. There's even an all-new Endurance mode where players will contend with waves of combatants. It's unclear whether these modes will come locked, or whether you will access them straight out of the box. The game will make use of the PSP's wireless Ad-Hoc functionality. Currently, Midway has revealed that Unchained includes head-to-head matches, but there's no word on other multiplayer modes or play over the internet. It's set for release sometime in Q3 of this year.

GTA Cheat Device v0.9 Released!
- by Admin On Feb 24, 2006 -

Edison Carter has done it again. Yet another release has been unvieled for his GTA Cheat Device. This version has added some great features including Construction mode, increased cheats memory, selecting files from the cheats directory and 333MHz support for firmware 2.6. Edison Carter has listed a couple tips for using the new features, here is what he wrote:
You'll need to move your cheats.txt file into the cheats directory. This version can access any cheats files in the cheats directory by highlighting "File: ..." and pressing left/right. They're in the order of the files in the directory, so make sure you copy the file you want to come up first into the directory first.
For tips on using Construction Mode, see this thread.
When you enable Construction Mode, it doesn't become fully active until you close the menu screen. Use the arrow buttons and analog stick to move around. You can move faster by holding X. It can be easier to see what you're working on if you use L1+LEFT to zoom out.
Here is a list of known object IDs. Objects usually take a couple seconds to appear. If you move too far away from where the object was originally created, it may become invisible. Holding R1 will usually make it appear again.
