 SISTERHOOD
LAVENDER MAGAZINE

Our eMag allows everyone to take pride in our history, speak our truth about recovery, and provides a constant stream of new ideas  and support from fellow survivors.

    our goals
*  Increase survivors' awareness of all the thrivers succeeding right in front of their eyes for a sense of commonality and vision of mentoring role models.

*  Break the psychological barriers of shame & silence.  By defining our vision and taking pride in our journey to recovery, we make our own publicity and support system available to all.

We have lavender sisters all over the country

accomplishing whatever is the next level in their growth
through our internet network of fellow thrivers
and weekly eMags to keep you connected.
We encourage you to send in your best affirmations, wisdoms, insights, etc. and we will turn them into compelling columns, articles, and special features.

Although the challenges you are facing are difficult,

millions of women are winning at achieving
 a healthy rewarding life.

Abuse is perpetuated across successive generations due to the denial and dissociation inside the family structure or what is called
The Poisonous Pedagogy

Such family systems of denial create unconscious rules
and family messages without benefit of recovery.

How many of these assumptions
were/are you living with?
Deny -  Do not think, see, hear, feel, reflect or question your experience.
Be Loyal - You must protect the family.  Keep the secrets.  Obey.
Don't Have Needs - Don't ask for help.
Don't Show Pain - Minimization.  Somatic manifestations and complaints.
Don't Be a Child - Don't play. Don't make mistakes.
Be adult-like but without power or authority.
Be responsible for everyone else.
It is Your Fault - You don't ever do the best you can
and you do it on purpose.
Scapegoating - You are bad, evil, immoral and to blame.
You are Responsible for Other's Behaviors - They are not responsible for their own behavior.  You must help them.
Stay in Control of Yourself and Those Around You - Stay on guard.  Hyper-vigilance.  Anything bad that may happen is your fault and thus your responsibility to prevent.
You are Incompetent - Don't reflect; question; process.  No time or safe place to reflect or process traumatic experiences.
