I’ve always been fascinated by vintage travel trailers.  I had been eyeing the trailer since it first appeared in my issue of Hobby Builders Supply catalog.  When the contest was announced I knew what I wanted to do.

I knew the trailer had to have an aluminum skin and the inside it had to have real wood paneling.  After mocking up a half dozen possible floor plans I decided on a two room layout.  The front room; the largest, contains a mid area galley kitchen with a sofa sleeper across the front of the trailer.  The rear room is a combination bed, bathroom.  There is a shower, toilet and built in sink, along with a spacious bed.  All the interior furnishings were built from scratch.  As in a real trailer most everything is built in.  All counter tops, sport a vintage boomerang pattern.  And the fabric is a 50's vintage Mod-Slurpy pattern done in blues.

Not having access to miniature shops; the nearest one being over four hours away, I must rely on the internet and miniature shows for the majority of my supplies.

The owner and resident of my trailer is a retired widower named Mario.  He was brought into my miniature world by the talented artisan, Pearl Jordan.

And after many months of hard work.
My Villa emerged.

The trailer has a well stocked gally.

Like most travelers Mario collects bumper stickers
from the places he has visited.  One of  his goals
was to travel the old Route 66.  A goal he managed
 to complete last summer.
