Patriot

Patriot is a 6 yr. old, 17.1 hh bay Trakehner gelding with no white marks. Patriot is a gorgeous & very friendly horse. Patriot is calm & cooperative under saddle, and has experience trail riding, riding in open fields & working in a ring. Kandis Mueller, his owner, rode him in our 5th Annual Summer Show Jumping & Cross-Country Horse Show and even joined Emily & Janine’s team with Patriot for the Spring Hill Hunter Pace in Alexandria, OH! Unfortunately, as a 2 yr. old, Patriot was diagnosed with Wobbler’s Syndrome, a hereditary neurologic disease where the bones of the spine do not develop as quickly as the spinal cord, compressing the nerves & causing problems with coordination. For Patriot, it causes him difficulty when he makes tight turns, but he does have enough control over his limbs to negotiate obstacles like trot poles. He has fallen with a rider before, and has the most trouble in difficult terrain, like mud, wet grass or steep hills. Patriot is a sweet horse that tries hard to take care of his rider, and he could make a good riding horse under the right circumstances, but he would also make a wonderful pet.
Patriot is the kind of horse that will come from anywhere in the pasture if he sees a person by the fence. He greets all the visitors to the Farm & tries to lick everyone’s hands. He has excellent feet that do not require shoes, and is up to date on all medical care. Patriot is a loving horse that will make a perfect companion for the right person. Patriot is for sale for $1500.00.
