Hi my name is Andrea, I have owned and bred dogs for the last 24 years. My first was a Pointer called Katie, KC registered name 'Solar Sunrise'. Katie did very well in the show ring, qualifying for Crufts and gaining her KC studbook number. Together we were unbeaten in junior handler classes, until the semi-finals of Junior Handler of the Year, at Richmond Champ Show where nerves got the better of me. I have also handled dogs for other people in the show ring, 2 Akitas and 4 Tibetan Mastiffs, one of the mastiffs, was pulled out in the last 12 of the working group at Crufts, the only one ever to do so. Katie won Best in Show (all breed 2 day open show) aged 11 years. She had 2 litters of puppies but sadly I never kept one for myself.
I got the first of my 4 Hungarian Vizslas in 1983, 2 of which I bred myself, they were all shown and won many prizes at open and champ shows. It was with the last of these Chester, ' Gardenway L'escargot with Andrusel' that I first found Agility in 1992, I was totally hooked, gave up breed showing and now spend all of my spare time training or at agility shows.
I am an instructor at my local agility club, do training days and private lessons, I also do home visits to help owners with their dogs behavioural problems. Please contact me for further information.
