About Slytherin
|
Slytherin is one of four Hogwart's houses. Each student, on their first year, are placed into one of these houses by the school's (singing) Sorting Hat. The hat is placed upon the student's head and whispers a few words to the student then yells out the name of the house the student belongs to. Here's some information on the seperate houses. Gryffindor is the house for the brave of heart. However, Gryffindor's usually turn out to be reckless rule-breakers, hardly a good quality for a house. Ravenclaw is said to hold the most intelligent and wise of the Hogwart's students. However, they hardly ever win very many points for their house which shows they are not as smart as they are made out to be. Hufflepuff is the house for the hard workers. Yet, Hufflepuff hasn't won any championships in years, which shows their true colors. Slytherin is the house for the truly ambitious. It is by far, the best of the four houses as its members go on to become the most powerful wizards and witches in the magic community. It is rumored that Harry Potter himself, was nearly placed in Slytherin. However, the hat must've detected Harry's fondness for being a reckless rule-breaker and thus placed him more appropriately in Gryffindor instead. Slytherin's animal is the sleek silver serpent and Slytherin's house color is green. The head of Slytherin is Potion's master Severus Snape. It is said that Slytherin is the most desired of the houses by the students. That is not surprising since only the most respected of wizards came from this great house! For more information on Slytherin, Hogwarts, A History, is highly recommended.
