The Peak District - August 2009

We spent the weekend pottering around the Peak District.

We did the usual visit to Matlock Bath, Castletown, Bakewell etc.. rode the Cat & Fiddle and Snake Pass, then got soaked riding further north into the Peaks. It seems it will always rain eventually in the Peak District.

We didn't intend to go off-road, but my GPS honestly chose these routes for me!

My technique ....

... was quite different to Anna's ...

We resorted to this after Autocom overload "I will get off, I will walk, etc..."

But eventually I had to give up. There was no way I could tackle this hill, 2-up, on "road" tyres with luggage ...

It might not look it, but it was VERY steep and slippery - I had trouble walking down!

I have unfinished business. I will be back.
