
I almost didn't make this trip.
The previous weekend I had been fitting an Autocom unit and also modifying the wiring for my spotlamps. I must have discharged the battery too much, and my bike simply would not start.
Seeing my attempts to bump start a fully laden GS by running up and down the road, a "White Van Man" felt sorry for me and offered a jump start from his Ford Transit.
I made it to the Eurotunnel with 5 minutes to spare before departure.

Cold, but dry and sunny for the race...

Perhaps the most unusual entry was a modified Honda Fireblade (number 39) ...

I don't think it lasted very long though as we never saw it going round the circuit. I suspect it was only entered to win the prize for the "Hole Shot" - fastest bike away from the start and down the long straight.
