MARION WILLINGHAM MCKENNEY

Published Author

Marion Willingham McKenney is an author and illustrator and has been writing since 2005.  

She writes adult fiction, young adult fiction, and children’s books; she has one nonfiction book.

Marion also wrote a play and just recently had the opportunity to direct it for a presentation to her church.

She is a part-time Substitute Teacher in Charlotte-Mecklenburg schools.

Marion earned her BS in Elementary Education from Bradley University, Peoria, IL.

She lives in Huntersville with husband, Joe.  They have three children and two grandsons.

She attributes her ability to write to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Marion was born in Dyersbug, TN on December 5 (year is not important).  She is one of ten children born to Mitchell and Montell Willingham.  She grew up in Ottawa and Peoria, IL.

Attended Roosevelt Junior High.

Graduated from Manual High School.

Worked for CILCO (Central Illinois Light Company) as a secretary/receptionist after graduating from high school. 

Worked at Caterpillar, Inc. for approximately fourteen years; where she had several clerical/secretarial jobs in Purchasing, Service Engineering, Service, Medical, Legal, and Compensation.

Started her own typing service, "AJC Quick Typing Service."
