Socks is a Chestnut mare foaled May 19th, 1991.  She has four white socks, hence the name, and a star, strip and snip.

Socks is a very good jumper, cross-country, and dressage prospect. She is a very sweet mare but needs a little confidence and some time spent with her. Socks was on the track for awhile but I don't know how she did. Socks is a very fast girl who loves to jump!! She doesn't look or act her age. Socks turns when you put weight in your stirrup and collects nicely. She has an extremely smooth canter that can be fast or slow. Her trot is amazing too! Socks could be a jumper or a dressage horse! Socks can also side pass like a dream and does flying lead. She is very well schooled, just needs somebody to spend time with her!

Socks is a great-great-great granddaughter of the amazing War Relic, son of Man O' War and a great granddaughter to Northern Dancer. She also goes back to Hyperion. Socks grandfather, Vice Regent, was the sire of the 2007 Belmont winner, a filly name Rags to Riches.

Socks would make a nice broodmare as she has excellent conformation and a great temperament. Or a nice riding horse. She would be a good jumper, she loves to jump!

Socks has been exposed to Dashs Special Rocket for an athletic 2010 Appendix foal.

UPDATE (Oct 20th, 2008): I have been riding Socks for the past three days and she is amazing!! If I didn't have all my other horses I would be keeping her! I will keep riding her until she leaves. If Socks is still here November 8th I will enter her in a jumper schooling show!

UPDATE (Oct 31st, 2008): I have been riding Socks a lot the past week and she has been really good! On Oct 29 we trailered her to a Cross Country Course not to far from us and I warmed her up in the arena then went out and did a bit of jumping. Socks was really good and I was really proud of her! I didn't have any control issues and she was really enjoying herself! Socks hasn't been trailered anywhere for about a year and she loaded very nice both at our house and at the course.

I had a jumping lesson the next night and I took Socks instead of my mare, Lassie, to see how she was. She was SOOO good. She was focused on what I was asking and was really relaxed and calm. I had no problem with her whatsoever!! We were jumping a bounce/grid and she was so smooth and listened so well all night!! I really enjoyed my ride both nights. It is making me almost not want to sell Socks but she needs to be somewhere were she will be used and well loved!! I cannot give her the time she deserves here.

As long as Socks is thinking she is really good. She loves to jump and calms down when you start taking her over jumps! She is amazing you look to the next jump and she will fly her lead as you go over the jump if she needs to. She can turn so nicely and goes wherever you look! She also turns with weight in a stirrup. If you have weight in the left stirrup she will go that way. Socks side passes and leg yields. She canters both leads on command and can do flying leads if asked properly.

Socks is an amazing girl and is SOO striking when you are riding her. She would be good in any show ring. She has the ability and the heart to win ribbons or to just have fun!

UPDATE (2009): Socks has been ridden on and off for the last 4 months. She has been really good but isn't getting the timeshe deserves so we would like to find Socks a good home.
