MuzzyFreedive is Rhode islands source for Spearfishing
information and a place for local spearos to meet.

 

My name is Anson Smith but many people call me by a stupid nickname, "Muzzy", or as every other guy named Smith, "Smitty".

I have build this website to help new spearfishermen and others who want to learn more about our sport and how to get started. All so as a source of local information for the spearfishermen in our area.

Please understand I'm not a pro, nor have I ever claimed to be. Yet I often have the opportunity to dive and compete with some world class spearos, to include current and former World Record holders, US National Champions, North Atlantic Champions, Freedive Shop owners and equipment builders. It's from these people I have learned many things that have assisted me in my diving and over all enjoyment of the sport. I can point new spearos in the right direction to avoid making some of the mistakes that I have made.

 

I ask everyone who wishes to use this site, to log in and get a password. Please understand that the only reason I do this is so that I can control the content of this site. I will never give, sell or trade your email addresses to anyone, EVER! I'm not into this for money, just for fun. I promise.
