Just got back from a fortnight in Cornwall with all the dogs. Yes, we found a cottage that would take them all, Helsbury Park, near Camelford. The cottage has a paddock that we could take them into, plus a garden and is about 20 minutes from one of the best dog friendly beaches around, Daymer Beach near Rock/Padstow.
All settled into the new surroundings really quickly, though the first 5 days it rained quite heavily the majority of the time. Luckily we had our waterproofs with us, plus plenty of towels to dry off the mutts, so our spirits were not dampened. The sun came out in the second week, though not enough to have a bbq.
Still to upload the photos but will put a link on soon.
We made it this time, took Zak, in the Spitfires and Joe and Jess were inthe Crusaders. All had a good time and ran really well. Zak is definitely getting his eye back in and as long as I can hold him runs like the wind from 50 feet. Managing to get the crossovers spot on. Need to practice for when he gets slower during the day but that will come with time.
Joe was very laid back, watching everything, looking as though he had no speed at all, but actually was going quite fast. He is still wary of tight crosses so the dog following him has to hang back a bit, but he is getting there.
Jess - well where's the superglue. She still drops the ball on the line coming back, more especially if a dog is coming towards her. If it's Joe, well he tries to pick it up, plus his own - hilarious to watch but not very good for the team!
Unfortunately we didn't make the flyball competition as my mum was taken into hospital. However, she is now out of intensive care and starting to make a recovery.
Brock has settled in really well, he and Joe play fight and tug all the time. We are hoping to take Brock to some flyball training as he is definitely ball orientated.
Meg and Zak continue to be office dogs. The rest are slumped all over the downstairs of the house when we are upstairs working.
