Rules of the Music Global Challenge
The Council
1. The Council will be formed by the Manager, Co-Manager and the current edition's Host.
2. They will be in charge of running the contest edition after edition and take care of all the details.
3. They will act as a Jury in some special cases explained below.
Artists
1.
No GLOBALLY FAMOUS artists and are allowed to participate (for example
Shakira, Britney Spears, Paulina Rubio, Madonna, Robbie Williams, etc).
2.
This Contest is inspired in the Eurovision Song Contest, but no Songs or Winners
from this contest are allowed to participate, however NON winning
artists are allowed to do it.
3. Artists can represent a country as many times as the player wants, but the same cannot be sent 2 times in a row.
4. The artists must be from the country you are playing for or related to it in one way or another.
Countries
1. All countries are welcome to participate in MGC.
2.
Small countries may use singers from their closest neighbour. To be considered small, the country must have less than 100.000 inhabitants. No exceptions will be made.
3. Once you confirm your participation that country will be reserved for you.
4. If you voted in the previous edition's Final, the country you played for will be reserved for you as well.
5. You lose your reservation until you ask to switch to a different country or if you forget to vote in the final.
Songs
1.
Songs in any language will be allowed for all countries but it would be
nice that you could use the native or official language of the country
that you play for.
2. The song may be a cover or a remix version.
3. The song must be in mp3 format.
4. There is no limit for the year of the song launching (It can be from 1387 if you want)
Edition's Structure
1. Every Edition will have a máximum of 29 participant songs.
2. If there are more than 29 Participants we will host a semifinal.
3. In case there is a semifinal...
* Top 10 PLAYERS from previous Edition will be "Direct Finalists". (Players in case they want to switch countries)
* 12 songs will qualify from the semifinal to the final
- Top 10 from semifinal
- 2 Council Choices
Voting
1. The way of voting is the same as the Eurovision Song Contest, giving 1p, 2p, 3p, 4p, 5p, 6p, 7p, 8p, 10p and 12points to your favorite songs.
2. Remember that YOU CAN’T VOTE FOR YOURSELF.
3. Countries that didn't send their song on time, may vote as international jury.
4. ALL PLAYERS MUST VOTE in both Final & Semifinal (in case there is one)
5. The song that at the end has the highest amount of points will be the winner.
6. If two countries have the same number of points, the one which got
points from more countries gets the higher position. If they were voted
by the same number of countries the 12’s will be counted and then the
10's (in case they're still tied) and the one who gets the most will
win. In case that they are still tied they will be declared both as
winners and to avoid conflicts the next edition will take place in a randomly selected country that doesn't participate in MGC hosted by the 2 winners.
7. What happens if you don't vote?
*In semifinal:
- Being a semifinalist you loose all your points and the chance to go to the final.
- Being a direct finalist you will be disqualified from that edition, and your place will be taken by one more semifinalist (The non voter(s) must still vote in the final)
*In the Final:
- Being a finalist you loose all your points, the chance to win and you will lose the reservation for your country; It will be free to be taken by anyone else in next edition, unless you ask for it again first.
- Being a non qualifier, you
will lose the reservation for your country; It will be free to be taken
by anyone else in next edition, unless you ask for it again first.
- We don't want you to leave but if you don't vote 2 times in a row even if you keep sending songs you will lose your country, however you will be able to take your country back if after 3 editions it is still free
THIS IS WHY IT IS IMPORTANT TO VOTE
Extras
1.
Some special editions will have a theme, so the songs and artists must
follow the special rules for these Editions. This will be announced by
the manager previously.
2. The winner of the contest has to make a logo for the next edition and help the manager as a council member.
3. You confirm your participation, send the songs and your votes ONLY to our official e-mail musicgch@gmail.com If you send them to a different e-mail you may or may not be notified, so make sure you send everything to the official e-mail to guarantee your participation.
4. No racism will be allowed in the songs, guestbook, e-mails, etc, if so, the member will be notified to change the song or to apologize to the offended otherwise he/she will be disqualified.
