Transmogrifications
is an experiment in the transformation of the trumpet's sound. Pre-recorded effects such as reverb, echoes, distortion and phasers are used in such a way that the sonic line between live trumpet sound and recorded effects is blurred. In the same way, the piece blurs the line between "art" music and jazz/funk music, creating something new with elements of both.

- Michael Sweeney, class of 2005
