Sebastian and Vincent are both saints on the January calendar. They died both by martyrdom under Rome's persecution of Christianity around 300 AD. Despite the immense pain and cruelty they suffered their belief kept them strong and they remained vigilant even as they were pierced or disfigured. It may be why an anonymous author wrote a modern story of S&V which I came across a year ago. It involves S&V as two teenagers who are tragically killed by a drunk driver. I know those who have been lost to such senseless death and this piece I give in honor of them. It is ironic those who have such beautiful and selfless lives are taken away by a horrific and destructive event caused by a simple act of consuming a drink. Please listen for life, death, and mourning.
