This set of six variations for string quartet is based on Johann Sebastian Bach’s chorale #110, “Vater unser in Himmelreich.” Each phrase of the chorale is heard in roughly its original setting, followed by an imaginative development of a motive, harmony or gesture from that phrase.

Kristin Roust is a B.M. Theory-Composition major from Sioux Falls, SD. She will begin pursuing a Ph.D. in Music Theory next year and hopes to become a highly-respected professor and theorist.
