Music at St. Andrew's Church, Buffalo, NY
Welcome!
Welcome to the web site of the Music Ministry of St. Andrew's Church, the Episcopal Church in University Heights, Buffalo, New York!
Here, you will find information about music for Sung High Masses (Sundays at 10:30 AM), Evensong and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament (certain Sundays at 4:00 PM and at other times as announced), other musical liturgies and our Concert Series.
The mainstay of the Music Ministry of St. Andrew's Church is the Schola Cantorum. The Schola sings the weekly celebration of Mass and all additional liturgies of the Church Year, from September through May. It is also the nucleus of the Evensong Choir: an ecumenical choir made up of voices from all over Western New York.
Guiding the Music Ministry is Pastoral Associate for Music & Administration, Peter Davis. The parish is shepherded by The Rt. Rev'd J. Michael Garrison, Bishop of the Diocese of WNY. The Rev'd Sarah W. Buxton-Smith is our loving and supportive Rector who realizes the power and importance of fine music in worship. Her husband, The Rev'd Stephen J. S. Smith, is our Priest Associate; The Rev'd Deacon Ed Ihde is our Deacon.
On these pages, you will information on the musical life of St. Andrew's Church, events, and recordings. Enjoy, and please be sure to sign our guest book!
