During the song "Wonderful" the Wizard is trying to persuade Elphaba into joining him.

She said that she would join him if he released the Flying Monkeys so he does so. But Elphaba sees what the real Wizard is like and no longer wants to join him, so she goes into hiding.

Guards rush in and capture Elphaba. She figures out that her sister's death was planned just to get her out of hiding.

image

Fiyero swings in on a rope and tells the guards he will kill Glinda the Good if they don't let Elphaba go. So the guards let Elphaba go and capture Fiyero, and put him on a post in the corn field.

For Good

Wicked in Japan

Wicked at Universal Studios Japan is much different than the production in the U.S. The biggest change was cutting the show from 2 hours and 45 minutes to 30 minutes. Needless to say, many songs were cut and they had to change the story and music to fit. It is supposed to be kind of like a flashback Elphaba has when she meets the Wizard. The show is equally split between Japanese and English. This is the way the show runs:
