J. Richard Jacobs
Co-Author of the scientific presentations for the Mars Society ON TO MARS 2,the Sci-Fi SEEDS OF MEMORY , the thrilling read of the Sci-Fi XENOGENESIS, and Co-Author of the anthology TWISTED TAILS

This is J. Richard Jacobs, but he prefers to be called "J". He began his writing career in 1956 and just hasn't been able to..."break the habit," he says with a wry grin. He writes primarily science fact and fiction, though he is equally at home with other genre and tends to cross genre lines with a delightful frequency in all his works. He has been an avid amateur astronomer since his first light through a telescope in 1947.

In college he majored in physics and mathematics and minored in astronomy but he didn't pursue any of them into the professional level. Instead, he spent 28 years  designing ships and yachts--he even became a hands-on builder of custom yachts "...for rich folks who couldn't think of anything better to do with their money than throw it into an extremely expensive hole in the water to which they would then attach some absurd name. A few sailed off into the sunset, while others contented themselves by remaining dockside and drinking their martinis dry," he says with a laugh.

When he retired he moved to Mexico where he taught the art of boatbuilding to several Mexican firms. He has also lectured on meteoritics (NEOs, PHAs, and other potentially dangerous rocks in space--and the fine art of collecting, selling, and trading meteorites), astronomy, the possibilities of life in the universe and other strange things at universities, high schools, and anywhere else where people showed an interest. Now...now he writes. His most recent venture was putting together an anthology of strange tales written by even stranger authors. The title? Twisted Tails. The book was published by Double Dragon Publishing in April 2006. It was given a stunning cover by Deron Douglas.

The author was born in Calcutta and spent her formative years in Delhi. She graduated in Economics (Honours) from Miranda House, Delhi University.  She received her post graduation in Economics from Jawahar Lal University New Delhi. For a brief while she taught Economics in Delhi University as a lecturer. She did her research on the ‘Changing Agrarian relations and its socio-economic impact on development’ from Rajasthan University.

Marriage brought her to Rajasthan a desert state, where time appeared to stand still. The veil separating the past from the present was thin. She could sense the fact that the history, which shaped the destiny of the place, hadn’t been lost. The violent and blinding sandstorms which blows through the hot summer months, revealed new shapes and contours to her, telling a different tale each time.  Her husband’s postings offered her an opportunity to travel in the state, which boasts of palaces and forts of a bygone era; which forms a backdrop to many of her tales.
She is presently staying in Jaipur. She is currently working on a collection of short stories, ‘Quixotic Quest and other Tales’ and her novel ‘Prithvi-2050’
