Michelle Murray has been playing guitar and composing songs for over 20 years, combining the sounds of folk, country, and a touch of the blues. Her song “Married Women” was recently selected as an Editor’s Pick on Washington Post MP3’s web site and her music has aired on WETA-FM on the “Traditions” show. Michelle also received a 2005 Wammie nomination for Best Contemporary Folk Recording for the Water's Edge CD Make a Choice, which she recorded with Anne Sucher and Rick Kanton. Rick Crump has been playing guitar and bass for over 30 years. With over 350 original songs, Rick has performed as a solo act and with full bands. Past performances of note include The White House East Room, the Air Force Academy Chapel and the Baltimore Civic Center. Besides playing with Michelle Murray and Les Hatley, Rick plays guitar and bass with Joyful Noise, a contemporary Christian youth choir. In 2004, Rick produced his first solo CD, Face the Wind, with original songs of faith. He has also hosted an open mike/coffeehouse at the Oakdale United Methodist Church in Olney, MD.
Les Hatley plays electric, slide, acoustic six- and twelve-string guitars. He has performed solo as well as with numerous bands and notable musicians including The Showmen, who opened shows for Roberta Flack and Charlie Byrd, and The Blue Dog Band, who opened for many well-known acts including Gary U.S. Bonds and The Coasters. In early 2001, Les became the lead guitarist with a contemporary gosepl group called Seneca. He also performs frequently with folksinger Don Bridges.
