The International Multicultural Studies Special Interest Group (IMSSIG)

The International Multicultural Studies Special Interest Group (IMSSIG) was established on the 28th September, 2004.

IMSSIG was launched to foster:

1) International understanding
2) Sharing of ideas and concepts
3) The research and practice into multicultural and cross-cultural counseling, psychotherapy, coaching, health promotion, psychiatry, medicine and psychology.

We welcome health and caring professionals to join our international special interest group. Membership is free and is also open to anyone with an interest in multicultural and cross-cultural issues.

News update

It is with great sadness I inform our IMSSIG members that our co-founder and advisor, Dr Pittu Laungani died recently. For many years Pittu suffered from polymyositis, a painful inflammatory disease which later led to complications resulting in pulmonary fibrosis. He finally lost the battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis despite expert and specialised medical care.

Pittu died on February 28, 2007 in London, England. He leaves his wife, Ann, who supported him during his long illness and his many overseas journeys.
