Mulligan Soup

Cool Jazz Quartet, in the Midlands, UK

Mulligan Soup

Mulligan Soup is a piano-less jazz quartet in the style popularised by Gerry Mulligan with Chet Baker in the 1950's.  We are available for weddings, events and concerts throughout the UK.

The group was formed by saxophonist Nick Smith, when he was asked to provide an act for the 2008
Newark-on-Trent Jazz Festival, which runs from Friday 16th to Sunday 18th May this year.

Taking transcriptions directly from the original recordings, our arrangements aim to create an authenitic tribute to the original quartet and provide some entertainment along the way!

The members of the quartet are all experienced musicians who play professionally both nationally and internationally, coming together to provide the sort of fluid and dynamic atmosphere that is appropriate to any occasion.

Personnel:  Baritone Sax - Nick Smith;  Trumpet - Benny Lee;  Double Bass - John Porter;  Drums - Stevie Smith
