~QUARTER-ACRE RESCUE RANCH~

An All Animal Rescue & Equine Advocacy Center

WARNING! DO NOT ADOPT TO THESE PEOPLE!

~ We  put a spell on them - and now they are Ours!

This is our list of people who have adopted from us and broken their contract. If you are in the Upstate NY Capitol District area and you have pets for adoption, be WARNED about these people for they DO NOT honor contracts;

RICK & TAMMY AMIDON,  Rt. 67 Buskirk, NY - several years ago, we adopted a pair of young billy-goat brothers to these people, who SOLD them immediately to slaughter....we did win a small claims judgment against them in the Hoosic Falls Town Court,....but unfortunately, that dosent help the poor goats. STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE and DO NOT let them get ahold of your animals!!! They are scammers out to make a buck off YOUR animals!

GERT/GERTY (aka Karen)  PANUSHEK & STEVEN WOODDELL, of "LONG-EARRED EXPRESS." in Hartford, NY: Broke written contract for adoption of two mules and SOLD them . DO NOT ADOPT TO THESE PEOPLE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES! THEY ARE SCAMMERS also!

OTHER PEOPLE WE DON'T LIKE AT ALL.........

...and have also put a spell on:

Killbuyers.

WHAT ARE KILLBUYERS?

KILL-BUYERS” and “BUNCHER’S” are unscruplous people who act as middlemen for the $laughterhouses. These are the people that will outbid you at auction while you are trying to buy a cute little horse or pony for your granchild, these are the people that will answer FREE TO A GOOD HOME ads for your horse and will promice to provide a "forever loving home" to your beloved animal - and take him directly to $laughter.  These are the people that CHOOSE to earn their living bringing horses, yes, even "good" horses,  to $laughter as a way of life. They travel all over the country and keep 'kill-pens" or feedlots at various locations throughout the U.S., Canada & Mexico. These are the people that will keep seriously injured, sick and suffering horses alive that SHOULD BE, NEED TO BE euthanised RIGHT AWAY but keep them alive anyways and let them suffer because they know a horse must be alive and standing "on at least three legs" to go to $laughter. These are the people that realize and exploit the fact that there is a BIG demand abroad for horsemeat and BIG money to be made right here in the good ole' USA supplying that foreign demand.

This list is by no means complete. Killbuyers are everywhere and could be living right next door to you! This is a list of the known killbuyers that have been identified through reliable sources.   Avoid them like the plague they are!

People & Orgs that DO NOT Work Well with Others

While not exactly on our black list, this section is dedicated to our "constituants" in the animal-loving community whom through our own experience with them, we have found that they DO NOT "work well" with others. So we have created a "Gray-List' for them;

QARRs GRAY LIST

New England Equine Rescues (NEER) see the QARR v. NEER page of this website to learn why we have put NEER here

NANCY DRUM, founder of "The Drum Project" and daughter of Dr. Drum who owns three vetenarian clinics in our area.  We were customers at one of these clinics and after the bills began to mount up, we asked if we could start a "running account" with them and Nancy said "no." Our question to her was this: Is that anyway to encourage poor people like us to vet their animals? We thought the idea for "us" rescue folk was to work together towards the good of the animals? Although Nancy refused to allow us an account with her daddys clinic, she was good enough to provide service to our animals and "hold our checks"  for deposit until paydays. Although this method helped us to get our animals attended to, it  DID NOT help our dire financial situation out any.  Some of the checks bounced and we were hit with double fees which only added to our financial crisis, naturally. We think it would have been better for us just to let us have a running account. We DO pride ourselves on paying our bills, even if it takes some time sometimes. All we were looking for was a  vetenary to work with us to get our animals vetted and allow us a payment plan.  We DO NOT think that is too much for a rescue to ask, do you?  If so, maybe you belong here, in our "Does not work well with others" page.

Sue Wagner of Equine Advocates who, when we called for assistance in helping to rehome our four (4) rescued horses, told us to euthanise them! We also called her on Nov. 2nd for help with an emergency situation involving horses (not ours, someone elses) but she never returned our call.

The Mohawk-Hudson Hi-Kill Humane Society, who, when we called for assistance in helping to investigate the theft of two goats we adopted out,.. told us they do not get involved in "civil disputes."  We also called them for assistance in helping to rehome our four (4) rescued horses,  and were told to "bring them to auction."

JOE SKIP, Equine "Barefoot Podiatrist" Farrier Specialists; this is our ex-farrier who professes to be a christian but who does not abide by christian principles of kindness, compassion, truth and rightousness. He is infamous for his "no-call no-shows" and will tell lies on you if you get mad at him, for example, the lies he is telling NEER about the "terrible" condition of our horses feet whom HE had neglected for nearly two years! Also, here is a farrier that believes laminitis in a horse can cure itself!

Mike & Chris Dodge of NY Horse Rescue, whom we called on Nov. 2 for help with an emergency situation involving NY horses (not ours) but who never returned our calls. This is the 2nd or 3rd time our calls have been ignored by these folks. We think they also "do not work well with others."
