"On Muldoon til Noon, In the Afternoon or With the Blue Moon , or  any radio broadcast that is hosted by me, there is always a song dedicated with a prayer for the troops serving this great Nation & the World, and for those who have served, as well.  Every branch of militayr and as well as our firefighters and police officers should be respected, praised and cherished as those who risk their lives daily for the good of ALL.   We should remember them always, and have the highest respect for their sacrifices as well as those hearts.who wait at home for them.  ~~ Gracie Muldoon

West 7th St First Church of God 312 W 7th Newport Kentucky!

Rev. Carl I. Howard and his wife Mary, were the founders of West 7th Street First Church of God in Newport Kentucky!  Rev Howard and Mary founded the congregation there since 1968.  Rev Carl preached and sang, Mary taught Sunday School.. Originally, the congregation in the basement of their home in Newport - in 1967 and within a few months had moved to 312 West Seventh Street in Newport Ky. They built a new building there on the corner,  in 1994.

On  Mother's Day May 8th, 2011, at 10:50 PM.  Rev Carl Howard left us as he slipped the bonds of this earthly flesh when Jesus called, and he went "home" to be at the greatest family reunion, with his Saviour,Jesus Christ, his  parents, and  many more loved ones in Heaven. He always said he wondered what Jesus really looked like and what it would be like to see the "face of  Almighty God."    We believe in our hearts, that  he has gotten to do that.  He love the Lord, so much.  He said he would rather be truthful and preach the truth as the Holy Spirit led him, that to be a "popular" preacher and say what people wanted him to say.  He spent his whole life searching for God's will and truth.  His greatest desire was to see his four children and their children and children's children saved and following the Holy Bible, the Word.  He was a friend in need for everyone who asked, he tried to help.  He had to work full time, at Mead as did his wife Mary, to raise their family as well as full time church work.  They both, lived to help and serve others, oft times being rejected by others for their faith. Their simple philosophy was that Christianity was not a religion but a way of life.. daily, hourly, communion with God.  Mom still resides in her home and enjoys visits from family and friends.  Each prayed for everyone to find the Lord.  At Rev Carl's  wake, many friends and family said he was one if not the one, that was most influential or the reason for,  in their becoming a "Christian".   He would've loved to heard all that, it gave him such joy. Of course,  Mom misses him very much and awaits the time they will be reunited in Heaven.  "Daddy just wanted the truth, and if anyone found it, surely he did. it was his desire;. he didn't want to believe anything but TRUTH, so he searched daily."  Amen.  He rests in the Howard Family Cemetary, along side his parents and brothers and sisters, a place he always called "down home."

Rev Howard and  wife Mary and the Congregation at the West 7th Street First Church of God were instrumental in establishing WorldWideBluegrass.com!  The Howards donated the station its first streaming computer dedicated to broadcasting bluegrass music in hopes that the gospel bluegrass music  would win a listener to the Lord Jesus Christ.  Feedback has confirmed it and the Sunday gospel shows, have won many souls. however, ONE  soul is worth it all!

 Poem

Oh, to be a musician,
To have an instrument to play,
To pour one's soul into each note,
To let the music have its way.

To release one's pent-up passion,
Be it anger - be it love,
To play with true compassion,
As a gift from God above.

To express one's inner joy,
To let one's spirit soar,
To free one's self to dance,
To sing loudly from one's core.

To tease and please one's inner child,
To relieve and ease one's aging mind.
To soothe and smooth one's secret hurts,
To trap, to free, to lose, to find.

To allow one's heart to burst,
To seduce with notes of love,
To communicate with angels,
To slap the devil's glove.

To do all this with music,
What an awesome, wondrous feat!
Such power in one's fingers,
In one's voice, in one's feet!

To command the world's emotions,
What an international rush!
Just by playing music,
Or ... is the music playing us?
