GOOD RIDDANCE TO BAD RUBBISH

Great Idea

One issue that homeowners sometimes face is leaks around the bathtub.  Good thing for silicone.  But I have a better idea.  Instead of a tub liner we should all use something called a bathroom liner.  Ya, you know where I am going with this.  Turn the whole bathroom into a bathtub!

I even have a better idea yet.  No baths or showers - no more leaks and just think of the money you would save.  It does rain once and a while - just go stand in that.  Good enough.

TV Should Be Free

Posted by muffetmanor on March 7, 2009 at 11:36 AM Comments comments (1)

There is something wrong with the whole TV system.  Cable / satellite providers charge something like $4000 a month to get TV.  This doesn't even include the TV itself.  But what is worse is I would have to sit and watch stupid commercials on something I have already paid for.  Why am I paying to watch commercials?  Take note from the internet - nearly all websites are free and are supported by advertising.

I can understand advertisements in over the air TV because that is free.

The alternative to all this is XBMC - it is all commercial free!!!  Actually a better alternative to all this is throw the TV away.

Features = Bloatware

Posted by muffetmanor on March 3, 2009 at 1:09 PM Comments comments (2)

The best software out there is free.  Paid software is always bloated.  If you have a piece of paid software that isn't bloated that is because it hasn't been around long enough to become bloated.  It will become bloated.

Software developers (and you know who I mean Micrsoft, Nero and Roxio) take note that if your software is lean, please leave it that way.  Don't go adding "featutures".  We don't want "features".  We want lean, bug free software.  Spend your time doing bug fixes instead of adding more bugs aka features.

How often do you hear, "My computer runs so slow.", or "my computer takes forever to boot"?  That is thanks to bloatware.

Do yourself a favour and uninstall Nero and install imgburn or cdburnerxp.  I cannot recommend those programs highly enough.

Rant about rant.

I really have nothing to rant about today except for bloggers who use blogs for nothing more than ranting.  Do you really think the entire world cares about what ticks you off?  I'll tell you what ticks me off - all the blogs that use the word rant in their titles.

There, take that ranters.

Oh and by the way I love the guy who protests freedom of speech.

Where does old ice come from?

Posted by muffetmanor on February 26, 2009 at 12:39 AM Comments comments (2)

So I heard about these scientists (and I use that term loosely) who say ice is now forming in the Arctic.  Apparently this is a problem they say because this is new ice and not old ice.  Do these bozos have any idea where old ice comes from.  All old ice was new ice at one time... duuuuh.

It just doesn't appear from thin air.  And while we are on the subject, please send some of this supposed global warming here.  It has been below normal temperatures week after week.
My driveway has old and new ice all over it.

Coke... it does the body good

I am at the gym the other day and decided to sit in the sauna.  The sauna is the best lazy persons invention ever.  You get all sweaty and warmed up without having to do a thing.  Afterwards you can brag to your buddies about the great workout you had and how you feel so much better and have so much more energy without having to lift a finger.

So anyway I am in the sauna and there is another fellow in there too.  Only he is drinking Coke (actually I think it was Pepsi... like it matters) out of a 2 liter bottle.  This sounds counter productive to me.  So not only is he not working out (just getting sweaty) he is getting a months worth of sugar in 10 minutes.  What a great workout... he got sweaty and got all sorts of energy from the caffeinated liquid candy he was drinking.

Context Menu = junk menu

Posted by muffetmanor on February 21, 2009 at 12:28 PM Comments comments (0)
Why does every application I install on Windows have to put crap into the context menu (right click).  After a while (meaning a short while) the context has so much junk in there it is hard to find the original menu items like creating a new folder.  Not only that with every extra piece of crap installed in that menu it gets slower and slower.  Apparently this is called convenience.
There is nothing convenient about a slow running Windows system.

There is some help to all this though - they are called portable apps.  They run without have to install anything.  Long live the PORTABLE APP!!!!

The Grocery Store Is To Blame

So I am standing in line at the grocery store and the line up is pretty long.  I hunt around for something to read and all the magazines are all these women's magazines about weight loss, makeup tips, and driving your man wild in bed.

I take a quick survey and I would say at least 1/3 (or more) of the people standing in line are dudes.  Problem is is there was not a single dude magazine available for reading.  They want all us guys to read those girly magazines???  Now I know why there are so many gay guys running around - the grocery store is responsible for converting them all.

Okay, so Mrs. Muffet pretty much gave up on this blog (pretty obvious huh), but Mr. Muffet managed to weasel the password out of Mrs Muffet  (woot!).  Now I can post my rants and raves and anything else I want to (double woot!)

Stay tuned!!
