Tex wins 2 out of 3 races this past weekend. On Friday Night he won the N4GORS race at Daytona. After starting 5th it wasn't long before he and Kingjoe got hooked up. The two of them knew they could run more laps on fuel than any other drive so they just let rode around and let the race unfold. Coming to the white flag it was Kingjoe in front with 2Smoke to his outside and Tex close in tow. On the backstretch the yellow would fly for contact between teammates Kingjoe and Tex also collecting 2Smoke. It happened when Tex was set to give King a push and he moved up the track making it impossible to hit him square. Kingjoe got the worst of it but still was able to finish 5th. In turns 3 & 4 contact between teammates MikeG and Sinkydees caused him to go spinning into the outside wall but he only lost 1 position.
On Saturday Night N4ARCA made it's final trip to Pheonix. With Tex winning the last race there he was set to take the track championship. Well Tex took the pole and was set to have a heated battle with MV but late in the race MV wore out his tires and Tex was able to pull away and take the victory and the track championship. MikeG was able to finish 3rd for the night after missing the second race due to a schedule conflict. Mike's night wasn't with out some contact when late in the race he and BG1966 made contact going down the backstretch. Mike was able to drive away and so was BG but with some damage.
Sunday Night ended Tex's weekend with a wrecked racecar. After winning Friday Night he was looking forward to the race. Mike on the other hand was not having as good of a weekend. His team was force to take the primary car back to the shop and have a brand new car brought to the track after a happy hour wreck. The team brought out a match car to the car Tex and Joe had driven Friday night with good results. Mike and Tex made a plan early to just ride around until the end. The plan was working until they made contact after Whiplash and Ateup ran out of room and Whiplash hit the wall. Mike just made a slight slide but the car had no damage. Later on in the race the radio communication was buzzing while the two planned what to do for the last pitstop. Mike and Tex hooked but and with just about 10 laps to go were joined by Bandit, Whiplash and 2Smoke and soon caught the front back. After taking the white flag Tex was set on the outside and Mike was set to go with him. When going into turn 3 Bandit slide up the track making contact with the LR of Tex and then made contact with Mike causing Tex and Mike to crash and and go from a possible 1-2 finish to a 5th and 6th place finish.
Tex pulls off another win in NFB. Tex pulled down the win at Zen Joltis on Tuesday Night. With help from Kingjoe Tex led the most important lap of the race. Rubberhead lead the most laps but was unable to lead the last lap but did finish 2nd with Joe backing out and letting them race for points. MikeG got caught up by lappers on the final restart and lost the main draft but was able to Randy by giving him a position on the track before the line having them finish 6th and 7th. 2nd in Points Chad had a bad night, he and Randy made contact causing Chad to go spinning and flipping down the track. Chad was able to finish the race but it was just a racing incident and said that it was just an off night on the track for him. With 2 race left Chad tails Rubberhead in the points by 130 points and Tex trails Chad by 115. Tex has a 65 point lead of Bandit and Randy rounds out the top 5 63 points behind Bandit.
In NFS Chad tails MP by 55 points and Tex trails him by 36. Tex has a 4 point lead over OBX with just a few races left. Kingjoe has 8th place wrapped up but Mike in 9th has only a 58 point lead over 10th place.
After a caution filled N4GORS event at California it found Mike taking down the win. This is his 2nd win in N4GORS his last coming at TOC in June of this year. About half way threw the race it would appear that Mike was going to be out of the race when Ateup spun across the track in front of him and he had nowhere to go. He made contact and spun infront of 15 cars." Man I thought I was going to be done when that happened. It is very rare that you spin front of 15 cars and nobody hits you. When I got turned around and saw those cars all coming at me threw the smoke I just closed my eyes and waited to get him, when my spotter said the track was clear and to get going I was amazed that I was not hit by any cars." Said Mike during his post race interview. The last handful of laps were exciting Mike was running in the top 3 the entire time just waiting to make his move and he made it when BG Slid up the track to take 2nd followed by Kingjoe. When the white flag flew it found Mike in 2nd behind 2Smoke and infront of Kingjoe, going into turn 1 Mike got right on 2Smokes bumper while Kingjoe was holding tight on his door then suddenly in the middle of the corner Smoke pushed up just alittle and Kingjoe was there, the 2 made contact and Mike made it threw. The yellow and Checkered where thrown at the same time as Mike crossed the line.
"Man what a night, I was involved in a bunch of wrecks and spun myself once, I don't can't belive my luck tonight." Said Kingjoe after the race. " It looked like Mike made contact with 2Smoke to push him up the track but I don't think Mike would do that but I would like to thank MHM for giving me a great car tonight and my crew chief for the awsome setup just wish it had turned out better.
When asked if Mike hit him in the corner 2Smoke said," No he didn't touch me it was real close but I just couldn't hold it on the bottom and slid up the track and Joe was there."
Randy wins his first race. With the help of fellow team drivers, Chad, Tex and Mike who was filling in for Tiptoesan. This also marked the first 1-2-3-4 finish for the team in the NFB. Randy was the only car from MHM that was not involved in an incident but all drivers were able to continue and help push Randy to his first league win.
