The Mt. Rainier Dental Hygienists' Society is a component of both the Washington State Dental Hygienist's Association and of the American Dental Hygienists' Association. We are located in the Greater Tacoma area, but have members between Auburn and Olympia. Our mission is to provide our members with quality continuining education and networking opportunities, as well as expand awareness of dental hygiene and access to care. We hold meetings every other month and encourage all hygienist's to join us.
If you're thinking of joining the assocation there are many benefits to becoming a member. Discounted disability, liability, and major medical insurance; CE opportunities, subscription to Journal of Dental Hygiene and Access Magazine, and much more.
Also, you'll be contributing to PROTECTING YOUR PROFESSION! Your dues go toward furthering the profession of dental hygiene. Recently, a law was passed that expanded the scope of practice for dental hygienists' to include practicing in senior centers and schools. New advanced degree opportunities such as the Advanced Dental Hygiene Practitioner are on the forefront of hygiene, and Washington State may be the first to offer this. Seniors and children go everyday without care in this country and dental hygienist's have the perfect skills available to answer the call. The ADHP answers the Access to Care crisis.
