A couple years ago, my friend Michael and I traveled through the southwest in a convertible. This was the entry into Nevada. |

A common river view in the Nevada desert. No water at this time (late September) but it looks like it gets pretty wet in the spring.

A downward view from the top of Hoover dam. The dam itself is pretty cool looking with some art deco touches. |

The reservoir created by Hoover Dam - the very, very blue Lake Mead.

A resident of the desert. A lot of the cacti have been used as target practice - they don't seem to have been hunted for food. |

A little bit of the midwest in the wild west. You can gamble anywhere in Las Vegas - from the airport to convenience stores to cafes. |
|
|
A night view of the Flamingo Hilton where we stayed. I won quite a bit at the slot machines here - enough to buy flamingo accessories (soap dish, toothbrush holder, etc.) for my bathroom decor. (I love flamingoes!) |

A street in the non-gambling part of Las Vegas. Just to show that it's not all glitz and glamour! |
