!!! HO-HO- HO and Merry Christmas all year long!!!
2008 Update
Hello! We should be moved in by the end of September to our brand new home. I am very excited as I was able to have electricity for my Christmas as an upgrade package. This was so exciting for me! It has been very hard trying to light up "Kathie's Lancaster Lights" all these years with no extra electricity. I have a lot of planning to do with a entire new living area to decorate. I do not really know how the front yard will be layed out. Just what I see with houses in the neighborhood. I am just hoping that with this move that my yard and my display will not get bothered. New neighborhood, new anything.
I will keep you updated as I find out anything out with the move. I do know that the nice large Ferris Wheel that I have pictured in my display of pictures is going to be up for sale. I first need to get it out of my garage as it is 8 ft tall. Anyone interested and livinging in the area of the Antelope Valley let me know.
I would like to introduce myself, and most importantly my family, and the reasos behind my building of KATHIE'S LANCASTER LIGHTS. My name is Kathie, and I am the proud mother of seven wonderful children. They range from 22 years old to a year old. I am also the proud grandma to Dylan, and Aubree. THEY are the reason I began building this Christmas creation. My four youngest children are still young enough to enjoy the lights, and of course "Santa Claus". I try to find out what they enjoy the most. I then get to work to add it to my display. I have already been thinking of new creations to add to KATHIES LANCASTER LIGHTS (2008). My two youngest daughters have explained to me what I have left out.
Approximately ninety percent (90%) of my display is hand made by KATHIE, all the wooden characters you see on this site was hand made by myself. (hence KATHIES LANCASTER LIGHTS). I have been doing my front yard now for about 11 years. Unfortunaly, I do not have pictures from my past years, as of yet. I am on the hunt for them. I am still learning "how to" take pictures of my display. I want ideas for the future, memories for my photo album, and information to provide for others. I make all my characters from coloring books, or graphics which I can blow up. I then enlarge all my charcaters onto paper. I always use the best white exterior paint which is made for outdoors. Then, I cut and paint all the characters myself. I do not sell any of them as of yet though plan to sell patterns very soon. I can help you with making your own, if you would like. You can feel free to email me, and leave me a message.
Have a wonderful Holiday's, ~Kathie
