Prayers We Should Know

The
Divine Praises
|
Blessed be God. Blessed be His Holy Name. Blessed be Jesus Christ,
true God and true Man. Blessed be the Name of Jesus. Blessed be His
Most Sacred Heart. Blessed be Jesus in the Most Holy Sacrament of
the Altar. Blessed be the great Mother of God, Mary most Holy.
Blessed be her Holy and Immaculate Conception. Blessed be her
Glorious Assumption. Blessed be the Name of Mary, Virgin and Mother.
Blessed be St. Joseph, her most chaste spouse. Blessed be God in His
Angels and in His Saints. |
Memorare
|
Remember, most loving Virgin Mary, never was it heard that anyone
who turned to you for help was left unaided. Inspired by this
confidence, though burdened by my sins, I run to your protection for
you are my mother. Mother of the Word of God, do not despise my
words of pleading but be merciful and hear my prayer. Amen. |

Hail,
Holy Queen
|
Hail, holy Queen, Mother of mercy, hail, our life, our sweetness,
and our hope. To you we cry, the children of Eve; to you we send up
our sighs, mourning and weeping in this land of exile. Turn, then,
most gracious advocate, your eyes of mercy toward us; lead us home
at last and show us the blessed fruit of your womb, Jesus: O
clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary. Amen. |

The Morning Offering
O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary,
I offer you my prayers, works,
joys and sufferings of this day,
in union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass
throughout the world.
I offer them for all the intentions of your Sacred Heart:
the salvation of souls, reparation for sin,
the reunion of all Christians.
I offer them for the intentions of our bishops
and of all Apostles of Prayer,
and in particular for those recommended
by our Holy Father this month. Amen.

The Apostles' Creed
|
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only son, our Lord. He was conceived
by the power of the Holy Spirit, and born of the Virgin Mary. He
suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again. He
ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the
communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of
the body, and life everlasting. Amen. |

Act of Contrition
|
Oh my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended
You, and I detest all of my sins because of Your just punishments,
but most of all because I have offended You, my God, Who are all
good and deserving of all of my love. I firmly resolve, with the
help of Your grace, to sin no more, to do penance and to avoid the
near occasions of sin. Amen. |

Hail Holy Queen
|
Hail, Holy Queen, mother of mercy, our life, our
sweetness, and our hope. To you do we cry, poor banished children of
Eve. To you do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this
valley of tears. Turn then, most gracious Advocate, your eyes of
mercy toward us. And after this, our exile, show unto us the blessed
fruit of your womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.
Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God. That we may be made worthy of the
promises of Christ.

The Prayer of Saint Francis
|
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace;
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master, grant that I may not so
much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved, as to love;
for it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
