The birth of Sunday Rose has heralded a spiritual new beginning for Nicole.

Insiders say the naming of Nicole Kidman's baby daughter is steeped in layers of deeply personal symbolism for the actress. While her father DR Anthony Kidman has revealed baby Sunday Rose Kidman Urban was named after Sunday Reed, the muse of famed artist Sidney Nolan and a patron of the arts, it is thought the name also holds another great significance. Sunday is known as the Lord's day in the Catholic church and Nicole has been increasingly dedicated to getting back to her religious roots since her split with Scientologist ex-husband Tom Cruise. "They both feel very blessed to have had Sunday and the name is a beautiful tribute on so many levels," says one insider, who suggests that Nicole has felt a deeper sense of calm and personal happiness since returning to her old beliefs. "So many good things have happened for her. She met Keith, fell in love and then got pregnant. She links her new happiness with reconnecting with the person she was before Tom," says a source. While Sunday was born in Nashville, she will be baptised in Sydney where the new parents will return at the end of the month, according to Keith's mum and proud grandma, Marienne. Even before the birth, plans were put in a place by the actress to have her daughter sworn in to the Catholic faith by Father Paul Coleman - the same priest who advised her on the annulment of her marriage to Tom, and then conducted her wedding to Keith Urban, 40, in a Catholic ceremony in June 2006. He described her traditional whil wedding as "a spiritual homecoming, coming back to the church and her faith". Nicole is now solesy focused on the teachings of her childhood. "Catholicism guides me," she says. "I have a strong belief. I try to go to church regulary, and I try to go to confession," she says. Sunday, say source, may even be living in Sydney by the time she is of school age, so she can be taught by the Sisters of Mercy like her mother. "This child will be raised the way she always wanted to raise her kids," says a source. "She's traditional at heart." Report suggest Nicole feels increasingly distance from her adopted children Isabelle and Connor, who live predominantly with their father, who is raising them as strict Scientologists. While Nicole's mum and sister Antonia were by her side for the days leaving up to the birth, Isabellea, 15, and Connor, 13, are thought to have stayed with Tom in Colorado. Earlier this year it was reported the children chose to spend their holidays at a Sciebtology camp father than with Nicole. "She feels she's had another chance to marriage and motherhood - she's so happy," continues the insider. " A hole in her life has been filled." Nicole, 41, is open about the effect her late-in-life pregnancy has had on her. "When I first saw the baby on the ultrasound, I started crying," she says. "I'd didn't think I'd get to experience that in my lifetime. To feel life growing with you is something very, very special."

Nicole's ex-husband Tom Cruise sent the actress a "room full of flowers" after the birth, sources say. "She has had hundreds of bouquets from well-wisher," says an insider. "Tom was one of the first people to get in touch and he sent her enough flowers to fill a room." Baby Sunday, whose birth was said to be triggered by Independence Day fireworks, was bon on Monday July7 at Nashville's Baptist Hospital weighing 2.93kg. The Moulin Rouge star is said to have delivered naturally after a smooth labour. After Sunday's arrival, the ecstatic parents said, "We feel immensely blessed and grateful baby girl. She's a delight!" Adds Nicole's proud sister Antonia, "The birth of Nicole and Keith's daughter is such wonderful news and a beautiful addition to our fanily. We are absolutely thrilled with the new arrival."

The Oscar-winning actress and her country-star husband welcomed a baby girl on Monday, then named her after the day before.

"Earlier this morning Nic gave birth to our beautiful baby girl, Sunday Rose Kidman Urban," read the message posted on Urban's Web site. "We want to thank everybody that has kept us in their thoughts and prayers. We feel very blessed and grateful that we can share this joy with all of you today."

The first baby for Kidman and Urban, Sunday weighed 6 pounds, 7 1/2 ounces, according to Paul Freundlich, a publicist for the singer. There was no immediate explanation for the name, though one thing is certain: She'll never be upstaged by the likes of Suri, Apple, Moses, or Shiloh.

Sunday — not the day on which she was born, lest she be associated with the beginning of the work week — joins a long list of offbeat celebrity baby names, from Suri (of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes), to Apple and Moses (of Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin) and Shiloh, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's most recent addition.

Kidman and Urban married in June 2006. She has two children, Isabella and Connor, from her marriage to Tom Cruise. Cruise filed for divorce in February 2001 after 10 years of marriage, and the divorce was finalized later that year.

Kidman, 41, won an Oscar for her role in the 2002 film "The Hours."

During a concert Saturday in Nashville, Urban said, "I'm going to dedicate a song to my very, very, very, very, very pregnant wife" before singing his hit, "Better Half."

Urban, 40, won a Grammy in 2006 for best male country vocal.

The couple, who were both raised in Australia, have a home in Nashville.

In a recent radio interview in Nashville, Kidman revealed that Urban had been getting hands-on in preparation for the birth by attending Lamaze lessons, saying, "He doesn't know the name (of the classes), but he has been very good at it!"

So when will Sunday's birthday finally fall on a Sunday? That won't be until 2012, when she turns four.

The pregnant star wants her children back.

A new feud has erupted between Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise. Insiders claim the divorced couple are at loggerheads over their children's living arrangements, after photos emerged of Tom's sister Lee Anne Devette yelling at their adopted son, Connor. Nic, 41, is said to be fuming after seeing the pics, taken last week when Tom, 45, took Connor, 13, Suri, 2, and Lee Anne to the Hollywood Wax museum, telling pals, "No-one yells at my kids!" Connor and Isabella, 15, have been living with Cass, another of Tom's sisters, while work was carried out on the new Cruise family home. "Nicole was willing to let Tom's sisters look after the kids and she was even resigned to them being raised as Scientologists," reveals a pal of the pregnant star. "But seeing another woman disciplining her children has pushed Nic to breaking point. She's had enough and wants them back living with her." But Nicole - who has confessed she is upset that her kids no longer call her mum - may have her work cut out. "The kids have been living with Tom and his family for years," says an insider. "They didn't even spend Mother's Day with her. It would be hard for her to suddenly make demands on their living arrangements!"
