Congratulations Cedric!
University of Texas running back Cedric Benson was selected by the Chicago Bears with the fourth pick of the first round of April's NFL Draft.
Benson becomes the fourth Longhorn running back in history to be selected in the first round and is the first since Ricky Williams in 1999. He is also the highest selected UT running back since Earl Campbell was also selected fourth overall in 1978.

University of Texas linebacker Derrick Johnson was selected by the Kansas City Chiefs with the 15th pick of the first round of April's NFL Draft. Johnson becomes just the second UT linebacker in history selected in the first round. The only previous one was Tommy Nobis, who was the first overall selection in the 1966 draft.
Johnson becomes the first Longhorn to be drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs since DT Ken Hackemack in the fifth round in 1990. He goes to the Chiefs, where former UT Co-Defensive Coordinator Greg Robinson coached with current head coach Dick Vermeil as defensive coordinator

University of Texas tight end back Bo Scaife was selected by the Tennessee Titans with the fifth pick of the sixth round of April's NFL Draft.
Scaife becomes the first Longhorn tight end chosen in the draft since Pat Fitzgerald in the seventh round of the 1997 draft by the Buffalo Bills. He is also the first Longhorn chosen by the Titans since the organization moved to Tennessee from Houston. WR Tony Jones was the last player selected by the team, as the Houston Oilers chose him in the sixth round of the 1990 draft.
