The Writer Stuff

WELCOME!!!

So glad you could stop by. After looking around, please click on the guest book link and let me know you were here. Take care and enjoy.

I HAVE ARCHIVED ALL THE FILES AS NO NEW VISITORS ARE COMING TO THIS SITE. No LINKS on this page will work.
***********************************************************************************
Use the above links to get to my story pages, the biography I am writing about my mom, my links page that will take you to other published online articles of mine and my resume page.

The biography of my mom is something unique. I am writing about her life with the help of those that knew her, or even just knew of her, through stories that show who she was and what she contributed to those around her. If you have any comments on what you read in the pages contained herein, feel free to email me and let me know. If you would like to also contribute by sharing some of your stories, and/or would like to be interviewed, again, email me and let me know. Please be patient, as weeks go by before I can access my mail.

Thanks to all who have shared so far. This is an ongoing work in progress.

If y'all want to see what other people had to say about my mom, there is a guestbook you can read. Entries are made by family and friends. This is the link. And then you can go read the biography I am working on as a tribute to her memory.

Here are some links so you can read the memorial pages of some other really strong people in our family.

Charlie was a grizzly bear of a man, but he had a heart of gold.
Walter was tenacious, funny and definitely one in a million.

Alex and the Ark

You know, lots of fathers can say they are proud of their sons. And though most really mean this, they tend to mean it simply in a "I love my son" sort of way. They would say their sons are good at sports or good at photography or some other such activity. They'd say their sons were smart or honest or strong or agile or some other such attribute. But I have to say (and this is my website, so I can say whatever I want), that I am extremely proud of the young man my son Alexander has truly become. Wish I could take some credit, but here I'd have to give him all of it.

He recently had his Bar-Mitzvah. (For those of you unfamiliar with this, just click on the text and I've linked it to something informative.) During the year long process of preparation, he began a Bar-Mitzvah project that goes a long way in showing just how selfless and intelligent he is. He took the "haftorah" portion he was to read and developed a project that went well beyond the scope of the Noah's Ark event he read about. Here is a link to the web page he started as part of his project to learn more. I urge everyone to check this out, as it relates to all of us, not just one religion or one culture. Its about the planet and all those that live on it. It is a project that shows young men like Alex should more rightfully be awarded a Nobel Prize than some blowhard politician that is only riding someone else's coat tails. Alex's generation is showing signs of actually doing something rather than just talking in intangibles.

If I have not expressed it strongly enough before, I'll just say it again here. I am very proud of my quiet son, a young man who, as his mother stated so eloquently during his Bar-Mitzvah, "talks quietly but whom others listen to; who listens quielty but puts what he learns into action."

Well, done Alex. I love you and I am very proud of you.
