European MP3 Music

This site focus on amateur bands that have their own web sites with music downloads, mostly mp3's. It is finished now, so by far most of the content will be external resources where you can find legal music. A good place to start is the Internet underground music archive.

Another place where you can download music videos, get audio files and read reviews is mp3.com, but that site is focused on artists worldwide. They have now re-opened after being closed for several months. (I think that is because they where purchased by CNET, if I'm right.)

I just downloaded "Always Too Late" by Silver Atlas, transfer rate at 3.01 KB/Sec with my super fast 33.6 modem. And the tune is very nice, electronic ambient, perfect for the late hours as they say. It really doesn't matter. You probably already have an mp3 player if you're here, but some of them are better then others because the files can be "cooked" and that can make a digital mess. Now, let's list up some bands with music in different genres.

Selected Bands

The Wilson Hospital
A Swedish band tripped up on the sixties, not like The Beatles, but very happy music. Some have described it as Prozacpop, whatever that is. I found a little biography on The Wilson Hospital, but there are many questions that remains unanswered.

Callisto
Don't know much about them, no biography, all they offer is news about the band, but they are playing rock music. That's all we know.

Here are some mp3 files from artists around the world, I'm currently building a search engine that will allow you to search for a lot of music.

Bosson one in a million mp3
Atomic Kitten - Eternal Flame
D'Sound smooth escape
Eiffel 65 - Blue Mp3
Enya Only Time

How does MP3 work?

MP3 compression was created by the Fraunhofer Institute in Germany in 1987. It soon became very popular due to the fact that it's file size is very small compared to the data stored on a compact disk, making it feasible to distribute audio clips on the Internet. It also became an enemy because of copies from copyrighted music, and the RIAA has been chasing distributors for years.
