U-Pack Moving is the self-pack residential moving service offered by ABF Freight System, Inc. In operation since 1997, U-Pack provides a unique moving option to consumers. The service allows customers to utilize space on ABF commercial equipment to move their household goods from one residence to another. The customer is responsible for packing, loading, and unloading the trailer, while ABF provides the transportation. U-Pack Moving performs only out-of-state moves. Equipment

For the U-Pack Moving service, customers load their household goods into one of the following options:

an ABF commercial freight trailer, with exterior dimensions of 28' x 8' x 9'a ReloCube, U-Pack's Mobile Container, 99% of which have exterior dimensions of 6' x 7' x 8'1% of the ReloCube fleet is composed of containers which have exterior dimensions of 6' x 7' x 7. 5'.

The ReloCube is a weatherproof, steel-constructed shipping container that can be used as a portable storage unit. A U-Pack ReloCube will typically hold one room of furnishings, while the commercial trailer will generally hold the contents of a three-or-four bedroom home.

Procedure

How U-Pack Works:

an empty trailer or container is delivered to customer's locationcustomer loads their goods onto the trailer or containerABF picks up the trailer or container, and delivers to customer's new locationcustomer unloads their goods from the trailer or container
