About MountLochan

The MountLochan Affix Story

My first, and rather simple, affix request of 'CorrieGlen' was rejected because it was phonetically too close to another registered one. I then came up with MountLochan which represents all of my dogs plus some of my passions.

'M' - is for the affix of all my dogs: Monkfield, Mossyfern & Manderian.

Mount - is from my dear Cherokee, my first ever dog and soul mate. She was Monkfield Mountain Song and was bred by Hazel Monk of the Monkfield Kennels in Worcestershire, UK.

Mountains are also a passion of mine and I have always come to life in them, whether walking, skiing, or hiking over the Rockies in the middle of winter. All of my dogs, even Ceilidh pup in her short life, have been on holiday with me in the mountains of Scotland.

Loch - Ceilidh's only holiday was in a log cabin, right on the banks of Loch Awe.
Lochan - Corrie's first holiday was in Knoydart where we had a lovely picnic at a loch up in the mountains called 'Lochan du Lochan'. She was carried in my daysack!
