~ About my site name ~
I chose this name, the Fires of Doom, because I wanted my site name to represent something important from the Lord of the Rings without directly telling what. "The Fires of Doom" represents Mt. Doom, and gives you a (small) persepective on the hard journey Frodo made to destroy the One Ring. I wanted something significant from the LOTR without just saying it strait out and without using a common name

[3/6/05] :::HIATUS::: I'm sorry for not updating for a while but I'm extremely busy. Unfortunatly this site will be on hiatus starting today until a while from now. The latest nominees have been added but no the blend entry. When I return I will finish round 8. I'm sorry but I really don't know what will happen after that. I'd like to thank all those people who have supported me, nominated here, donated buttons and given me awards. Thank you for 7 wonderful rounds and I hope to return in a couple of months or less when (hopefully) the work I must get done decreases. Should I find time to finish round 8 before I come out of hiatus, I will do so.

[1/29/05] I had some extra time and thought I'd add a quick little update :) Judging is almost complete and awards should be made and posted soon! The next 2 weeks will be very busy for me, so I apologize if there won't be many updates.

[12/31/04] New Year's Eve! Almost 2005! I think most of you have noticed that the updates have been less frequent. Sorry about that, but the holidays are a busy time! On a sader note, I regret to inform you that the updates from now on will be less frequent. Life for me has gotten busier and I cannot update every day like before. Updates will probably be made later during the day. I'm not closing this site yet though! It's been fun running an award site. And I thank all those who have given me awards and recognized my efforts, even if this site isn't the greatest looking site! And I'd like to thank the people who have nominated here, all of you have great sites! January and Febuary will be busy months for me, but I'll try to end Round 7 sometime in late January anyway. I don't want everyone waiting too long! Thanks for all your support and thanks to all nominees!

Welcome to the Fires of Doom Awards! (I'm refering to 'Mt. Doom' from the Lord of the Rings) This award site isn't only for the Lord of the Rings! All sites except hate-sites, porn, racist, etc. etc. are welcome to nominate their site for an award! Award, Anime, HP, LOTR, PotC and other sites are welcome to enter also!
