~YAY! The first update in year 2008. I have a lot of stuff to update with today, I've been really hard at work in finishing "The Spirit of Biollante" ( TSOB ), and getting my next story started which is going to be titled "Mothra & Godzilla: Future Destiny" it will no longer be called "SpaceGodzilla's Retribution" since he won't be in the story, instead it will be a continuation of TSOB. Here are some other updates:

~Added new pictures to the characters: Donny, Sahra, and Cyndi----plus added a note referring to Miki as the property of Toho.

~"Eternal Midnight" is no longer part of my official series, however it is a stand alone story due to the changes that have gone on throughout the series in Modra 3, TSOB, and Moth&Goji. It is still an Important story, just not part of the series.

Godzilla 1954 (Original Japanese) Movie Review

As of today, I purchased the two-disc set version of “Gojira” at Wal-Mart, I am definitely happy that I bought it. I was astounded, for it is also the first time I ever saw the original version of Godzilla, the Japanese version. I must say, the American version is definitely a lot less emotional, and I have a good idea why. This movie definitely has its political differences when considering both the Japanese version (anti-atomic weapon) and the American version (no trace of anti-atomicism).

I’m not going to focus on the special effects, or such things like that, because in my eyes, this movie does not need them to be a good movie. The emotional events, characters, and the musical score is enough to persuade me to rate this movie as a good, spectacular movie.

I’m going to focus on Godzilla first, since he after all, is what the movie is about. He seemed to be as dark and frightening as he was in the American version, there is no doubt about that. But, the weird thing is, is that he was in the movie a lot more. It is ironic, but I believe that the American version actually has about 40% of Godzilla’s scenes removed. He certainly grew on me in this movie as his true form, his ultimate and original character.

I loved the characters in the Japanese version, I LOVED THEM! It is definitely what the American version lacked----character development. In this version we expand on Emiko and Ogata’s love for each other, and their opinions/feelings toward Dr. Serizawa. Emiko really impressed me here, I never imagined how much of her character was left out in the American version. She is a very sensible, courageous woman, exactly what movies need I must say, strong female leads. Ogata, sort of surprised me as well, but his character seemed similar to what it was in the American v. The Professor’s character is also seen A LOT more in this movie. And we get to see his views in regards of Godzilla’s destruction. “Godzilla is a brilliant opportunity for science to expand, and learn about the past, and how atomic weapons created it.” ----A little tidbit of his views. The character though, that surprised me above all else, was Dr. Serizawa. He was such a tragic character that it literally made me cry, and I am not kidding. That is a big booboo in the American version, leaving his emotion, personality, and character development out. It was as if I could feel how he was feeling, the internal struggle with in him in regards of, “Should I use this weapon do save the world from Godzilla?” or “Is it worth the risk letting my weapon fall into the wrong hands, destroying the world as well?” It was so emotional at the end, when he actually sacrificed himself to both destroy Godzilla, and keep the world safe. It was amazingly emotional, I cried…ha ha…….

Of course, this movie would not have its emotional impact with out Akira Ifukube’s musical score. It gave this movie the necessary emotional back up to make Godzilla frightening, and to make Serizawa’s death very depressive.

This movie, I must say is one of the best I have ever seen, I love it. Truly a masterpiece!

"Modra 3: The Joining of Forces" ~Synopsis 2/10/06

I have created a little synopsis for my recent fan fic that is in the process of being made, called "Modra 3: The Joining of Forces":

~After the awesome battle in Tokyo against Cyrstle Ghidorah, unusual things begin to happen. All contact is broken off from Batan Island, which sort of scares some people. Knowing that something unusual is happening, Commander Aso sends Donny Winter to investigate what was happening.

Meanwhile, the Elias on Infant Island encounter Mothra, but it isn't Mothra Virgo, it is an absolutely different Mothra! After that, they run into the twin priestessess called the Shobijin, who have came from a different dimension throught the temporal aperture that Zembare once came through. They explain how a mysterious race of aliens entered their world. They were none other than the infamous Xilians! They discover that after being defeated by Godzilla in their dimension, they found the temporal aperture in their time and used it as a portal into Modra's time. They planned on conquering a supposedly weaker dimension than the other. They also discover that the Xilians have been on the planet for a great number of years. Ever since Cyrstle Ghidorah first appeared in 2002, evidently they knew of the temporal aperture in the (GFW) dimension before anyone knew of it in Modra's dimension.

On Batan Island, Donny runs into Chief Torbysnief in the middle of the forest, and reluctantly tells him about what had been happening. He finally realizes that the Xilian race has taken over the entire island, and has executed dozens of the Batanian people, by the mere order of the Xilian leader named Arc'lus. After explaining everything, Torbysnief sent Donny to the center of the island, where Modra was being held captive by the mysterious alien race, to release her so that she may defend the world again....

Eventually, a group of "Earth-Defending" monsters participate in a gigantic battle against a group of alien kaiju. Who will win though?

Godzilla: Final Wars 12/29

Okay, here is my review of the final installment of the Godzilla saga, for now lol! Anyhoo, the movie IMO was awesome, one of the best epics I have ever seen! Certainly worthy of bearing a sequel. Okay here we go.

The characterization in the movie was very good I think! They were expressive, and they really got into things to start things off. Especially X-Seijin, he has got to be the coolest villian (besides Belvera) that I have ever seen. He gets into his role so well that he actually scared me a bit, and made me laugh! He's like an overgrown child, which makes it even better. Ozaki also was portrayed very well, of course the hero has to be, he's cool. I love how he quoted the Shobijin a few times in the movie, it sort of reminds you that both they and Mothra still play a decent role in the film. Don Frye did an awesome job as playing Captain Gordon. The character really cracked me up, he seemed to be a romantic as well as an out-going confident hero in a way. Also, it is always nice to see an American character play in a movie like that. The Shobijin were done well, I wish they were in the movie a bit more though.... Everything else (character-wise) was awesome.

Okay, monsters, my favorite part:

Godzilla: he is just perfect in this movie, maybe just a little bit too strong though in certain areas. He KOed monsters so quickly that I had to rewind the part just to see it again. His moves are really awesome in this film, he's more sleak, and he's faster. The ideal King Goji. I love the end to when he swims off with Minilla, it shows that he has a soft side to him, which I think should exist in the kaiju.

Rodan: I was enamored by this thing. This is currently my favorite Rodan now, his flying scenes were well done, perhaps the best in the entire movie. Unfortunately, we didn't really get to see him in any good battle action though. It would have been nice to see him and Mothra battle, that would be always a savorable dream to me. He truely was magnifiscent in this film!

Anguirus: WOW! I have never loved Ang till this movie. He is totally vicious, and his thunderball attack is very powerful, enough to accidently send Rodan flying toward the Earth. In my opinion, he did the best against Godzilla out of the trio that was battling him. Another favorite thing that I love about him, is his little rolling attack. It looks so cool!

Kamacuras: It's nice to see another 60s kaiju make a come back. Kamacuras is a very tough little bug in this film, and I love the new abilities they gave him. Such as camoflauging, and super-speeds while flying.

Kumonga: Kumonga was okay in this film, it was a pity that Goji beat him so quickly though, we only got to see him spray a few strands of silk at the KOTM. Ths silk was interesting by appearance. He was done well in the movie, especially his design.

King Seesar: He was cool, but a little freaky looking. His eyes immediatly made him look less......serious. He was very strong, I especially love the part where he kicks Anguirus towards Godzilla, that was so cool!

Zilla: Since I do like Zilla, I think he was used poorly in this film. I know how most G-Fans hate him, but he is a kaiju and deserves to be respected. His city destruction scenes were awesome, but his battle with Godzilla I thought was really pointless. They used him very poorly in the film, when he had a lot of potential.

Ebirah: This one is tricky to discuss about. IMO, he really didn't seem too different from his Showa counterpart. Of course he was more violent, but I think they could have done a better job on our old lobster.

Hedorah: This was literally pointless. He was in the movie long enough for Godzilla to blast him. He looked okay, he was used well for the few seconds that they had him in the movie.

Minilla: OMG! Minilla was so cute in the movie! He was used a lot better than the Showa one was. He actually made me laugh at times, I enjoyed him being in the film exponentially.

Manda: I loved the part with Manda, his movements were totally amazing. Too bad he was killed, it would have been interesting to see him duking it out with Godzilla. A great battle that one would be.

Gigan: This is the first time I have loved this kaiju! He was so cool in this movie, and he was just evil! The first battle though I thought was kind of a waste, he was destroyed by Godzilla in like 10 seconds. The destruction and the final battles though were done very well, Gigan looks very realistic. (except when flying, but he still looked awesome)

Monster X: This shady kaiju was done very well here too. He was truely evil, and sort of reminded me of a villian from Dragon Ball Z or something. He is a very strong physical fighter, and has got to be one of Godzilla's strongest opponents.

Kaiser Ghidorah: Now this is one mean Ghidorah. Truely one of the strongest incarnations, ranking up there with GKG. It was very cool watching him deliver his strength and weapons, he literally surprised me by his strength, and evil. The transformation from MX to KG was done well too, it looked very nice.

~Okay, now on to my favorite!

Mothra: Despite her short time (well sort of) in the film, I enjoyed her appearences a lot! I have started thinking that a Mothra Song may have not been necessary in this instance. Her emergence from Infant Island was beautiful and majestic! I also love the back ground music in that scene, it gives it a peaceful touch from the rest of the movies score. Her battle scenes were done very well! My favorite part still is when the two were crashing into each other in mid-air. It just shows how powerful this queen can be! The part when she was dodging Gigan's slasher discs was very cool too! She looked so real, I was literally astounded! Now onto Mothra's death/or sort of, I don't really think she died, I mean, I played the thing in slow motion, and when she crashed into Gigan in her fiery form, it looked like something came out the other side. Therefore giving me the impression that she just may have survived. The ending too in the credits when she appears flying back to Infant Island was beautiful too, the Shobijin were all smiley. One thing that literally pissed me off though, is that nobody noticed when Mothra vanished! What....GRRRR! Not even the Shobijin, what respect for the kaiju that fought alongside Godzilla and actually saved his ass a couple of times! Well, in retrospect, Mothra was done very well, her scenes were awesome, and her character was portrayed well too. A little bit more screen time though would have been nice....

Okay, finally I'm done. The movie was very awesomely, spectacularly, brilliantly, enjoyably, wonderfully, awesome! I hope they keep making more, especially knowing the quality, and time put into this one.

I give it a 8.9/10!
