A little about me....

My name is Kim Goode and I am the mother of a most beautiful daughter born January of this year. Until the birth of my daughter, I was a special education teacher working with students with learning disabilities. I loved it. Having my daughter changed all my plans. I was thrown into the world of birth professionals. I learned about OB's, midwives and doulas. I read about natural childbirth and birth partners, breastfeeding and how to care for a newborn. The research was easy. It was the implementation that was difficult. During those first weeks as a new mother I could have used someone to take care of me!

My wonderful husband, Christopher is the one who encouraged me to learn more about birth professionals and I decided to become a postpartum doula. I am starting my official training through CAPPA. I am excited about the opportunity to help other women enjoy being a mother.
