July 30th Corrected ID's on a few fossils that I had mis-identified.
July 29th Went to the Ouachita River with Lance. While we were there, we ran into Rick with quite the collection of teeth. Lance and I also found quite a few fossils. Mine finds are under the page, Ouachita River. I will link to Lance's page when he gets his finds up. The exposure is the Arkadelphia Marl.
Next we hit another site where Lance found shark teeth and crab parts. I found a vert, a tooth and a bi-valve with the most details that I ever found.
July 28th Hunted at my favorite creek with Lance, Frank, George, and Kelly. Pics under Arkadelphia Area. The creek exposes the Ozan formation.

July 17th Spent the entire day looking at different formations northeast of here. Not much luck in the way of fossils but did get some topo maps for the area at the forest service.
July 15th Headed to the Jessieville area in search of trilobites. Wasn't successful but just received the article with the map that I was looking for, so will try again as soon as I figure the map out. It is a map showing uplifts of formations so it will take me longer (no roads etc. on this map).
July 4th Drove north to the Leslie, AR area. A very generous landowner let me hunt on their property. My thanks to Thad Chadwick. Pics under Northern Ar.
June 30th Checked out areas in the PA age group.. no fossils. Also toured the lower dam a couple of miles from here. Checked out the Ouachita River and found shark and fish teeth, 2 fish verts, and a few unusual teeth that I will identify. Pics under Ouachita River Page. Most of the shark and fish teeth not pictured as they are already posted from past hunts.
June 28th Drove in the DeGray Lake area scouting for formation identification, then drove off their property to look for the other exposures of the Jackfork Formation. Did manage to find some, but no fossils in the areas that I searched. That formation is not known for many fossils.
June 26th Went to the Corp of Engineers at Iron Mountain to see if I could search for fossils and collect but the answer was, that nothing can be taken out. Did see a road, not on their property that I can check out. Doesn't look Cretaceous, looks like an older, mountain formation.
June 23rd Hunted the Ouachita River and for the first time watched a flash flood up close. Quite amazing with hundreds of feet that had been rocks, under the water with fast moving rapids. Before the flood I found a nice ray tooth and 2 partial Schizorhia tooth. Pics on Ouachita River page.
June 22nd Hunted two, (new to me creeks & one river), zero fossils. On the way home hit a different entrance to a creek that I have hunted before. Found the oysters that are common in there and one that I hadn't found before. Was joined by a few hunting partners on the last hunt of the day. Pics under, " Within Creeks."
June 20th Hunted exposures in the Okolona, AR area. Found 2 Dear Heart clams and a partial trigonia clam. Also found numerous echinoids.
June 16th Hunted the local creek. Also added a link to Lance's site for the entire mosasaur dig..under DPS dig & Ashgrove page. Link to the entire mosasaur dig

May 21st Found a very small vert, not much larger than a quarter. I found 2 shark teeth new to me. Pics under Ouachita River.
May 16th Another river trip. Found some nice teeth including a ray and a partial Schizorhia tooth that I dropped over a week ago and was too deep to look until today.
May 15th drove a couple of hours north to a hunting area that I had been to before but wasn't able to locate. May have found a rare echinoid, Linthia. Pic under Northern AR.
May 8th Went to the river and most of it is still very flooded but I was able to reach one trail and found a nice ray tooth & a fish bone or spine. Pics under Ouachita River
May 5th and 6th..went to an undisclosed location in Texas and helped the DPS, dig out a mosasaur...lot of work but fun too. Pics under Ashgrove Quarry and DPS Dig
April 28th Headed south in another creek to check for difficulty in hunting there. Did find a bone that may be plessy. Pics under recent finds. Deeper and more difficult than north. Also headed out a highway that I have been on. Pulled over when I saw a creek. Walked for about a half mile but no exposure seen and no fossils. On the way back, I noticed people in the Caddo River. Went down a boat ramp and while there was a guy fishing and kids swimming, the current was strong and no sign of rock banks, just grass banks.
April 27th Headed south in a nearby creek. Found one vert maybe. Doesn't look like the other verts that I have found. Pics are under recent finds.
