Blue Tongues

We used to speak in
blue, blue tongues
but years and age
and worry have
brushed our
tongues red and
raw and usually
silent unless
there’s something
meaningless to
say.

Barnacles

haplessly I long

for lost youth

with its passions

encrusted like barnacles

on the cracked hull

of an ancient ship

run aground

          --michael estabrook

Mountains

in the distance

moving

like dark waves

simmering

blue-gray

turning pink

in the setting sun

            -- michael estabrook

Hearts Haiku

In rhythm with one
Soul mate hovers lost in time
Unfound destiny

        --Ron Cervero

Create

I AM… Ancient of days
and I was never created
Not even as an art form…
But I do create
Art languages music prose and breath
For those of low self worth
I can also create oxygen…
              -- Ron Cervero

New Ones

Tonight I am

a deep breathing

iron range

banging into the night

new thoughts

yeah

new ones

    -- michael gause

Survival

cloistered

joy

crowded

room

pray

repent

but

keep

moving

       -- michael gause
