Fortunately, there is quite a few models of the Morris Light Recce Car available in different scales, even though they are all in resin. I have included a short review for the ones I have one seen photos of or have myself. Accurate Armour 1/35 Morris LRC Mk I This model accurately depicts a Mk I, and looks really good, they are photos of it on the Accurate Armour site here And here http://www.accurate-armour.com/gallery1.cfm?id=29&navlevel=2 There is also a review of it on the Missing Links website here http://www.missing-lynx.com/articles/britain/morris/pbmorris.htm Cromwell Models 1/35 Morris LRC Mk 2 Based on Ian West's Morris Light Recce Car Mk 2, this model also features a detailed interior, you can see photos of it on the Cromwell Models website here http://www.xs4all.nl/~cromwell/ (Click on '1:35 scale full kits') TP Models 1/72 Morris LRC Mk I This simple model from the Czech company TP Models looks to be the best 1/72 scale Morris LRC in my opinion, and captures the look of the Mk I very well and accurately. I bought mine off Tracks and Troops http://www.tracks-n-troops.com/shop/ Extratech 1/72 Morris LRC Mk 1/2 This model claims to model both the Mk 1 and 2 Morris Light Recce Car, however has no alternate parts. In reality it seems to model the Mk I, however the wheels appear slightly too large and with inaccurate suspension. The photo on the box is of a Mk I. Very good and detailed model though, with two decal options and etched parts. You can see it on the Extratech website www.extratech.cz and see a review of it here http://www.ontheway.org.uk/reviews/Extratech/MorrisMk2prev.htm Cromwell Models 1/76 Morris LRC Mk 2 Part of the 'Combat Ready' range, this is a simple model consisting of the hull and wheels etc in one piece, and separate pieces for the hatches, Boys anti-tank rifle, turret, Bren gun and rear visor. In my opinion this is the best 1/76 Morris LRC. You can see photos of it and buy it here www.xs4all.nl/~cromwell (click on '1:76 Combat Ready') Milicast 1/76 Morris LRC Mk 2 The Milicast version, to me, appears to have got the dimensions wrong somewhere for the hull, making it look inaccurate, and the wheels look dodgy as well, however it does include alternate parts, such as including the cut-down turret as seen in Normandy. Can be seen and bought here http://www.milicast.com/british/uk_range/uk06.shtml Crusader Models 1/76 Morris LRC This American war games company makes a model of the Morris LRC, although I have not seen any photos of it so cannot comment on it. |
