In the previous issue of W.I.T.C.H (52):

In issue 52, Cedric headed to Villa Ludmoore where an amazing library with old books were supposed to be cleaned up and chucked out. He was looking for books of magic and what he found was no less than "The Book of the Elements".
He was both terrified and delighted when he discovered that the book was filled with power, it even began to speak to Cedric. It said:
"I am your happiness and you . . . you are MINE!"
