Medical Bill Assistance

In every state you may want to try and apply for the State Medicaid program.  Medicaid will cover children needing assistance with Medical bills until the month of his or her 18th birthday.  Now, remember that if you have worked you have paid into this program so do not feel like you should not ask for assistance.  Also, Medicaid will cover you even if your child has insurance.  Once your insurance is billed Medicaid will be billed as a backup to the remaining balance.  Medicaid will cover medications, testing, etc. that your child will need.  You will need to locate the County Department of Health and Human Services either online or within the phone book.  Just keep in mind that you will need to apply within the County that you live.  Also, speaking with a caseworker at the hospital is a wonderful way to find out what programs and assistance are available.

Ronald McDonald House

NOTE: If you are preparing for a visit to the hospital, treatment, etc. you should contact the facility you are preparing to visit.  Check to see if they offer a Ronald McDonald House.  If they do you should prepare to get on a waiting list prior to leaving.  Reservations are needed and they are very important.  If you have to seek ER treatment once you are settled if staying for more than a day you should contact the hospital caseworker or the RMHC facility.   RMHC offers in most cases a close home away from home for you and your child to stay while visiting the hospital.  Kitchen onsite, family rooms, etc.

About RMHC Programs

Since 1974, when the first Ronald McDonald House opened in Philadelphia, Ronald McDonald House Charities has grown into a global network of care. Driven by a passion to reach out to children in need, the core programs of RMHC have grown beyond the cornerstone Ronald McDonald House to include Ronald McDonald Family Room and Ronald McDonald Care Mobile.

Because of outstanding staff members, volunteers, individual and corporate donors, and every family, each of these programs is transforming the lives of children in neighborhoods around the world.

The Neuroblastoma Children's Cancer Society is a group made up of volunteers, many of whom have children or relatives who are victims or survivors of this disease. Our organization is an advocate for the children who suffer from neuroblastoma and is dedicated to serving as a support center for their families. The primary focus of the organization is to raise money to assist local research in neuroblastoma cancer, and to raise national awareness to focus additional research and funding until a cure can be found.

Michael James Sexton's courageous effort in his fight against neuroblastoma cancer ended in September 1993 at the age of three. During his nine months of intense treatment, he faced each day with determination, purpose and his smile! "We were shocked by the inability of the medical profession to combat the disease and that no major organization was funding significant research to promote a front line treatment or cure for neuroblastoma cancer."

"Our family and friends decided to do something meaningful in Michael's memory and in memory of those children who lost their battle with neuroblastoma." Founded in 1994, the Neuroblastoma Children's Cancer Society is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting research and providing support to the children (and their families) diagnosed with neuroblastoma.

"Our organization is dedicated to raising funds for Neuroblastoma research, to change the outcome for all children diagnosed with this disease."

Our goals

Through our organization, we want to raise funds for research of this disease, to change outcomes, and to stop this disease from taking our children!
