In this section you will find our weird and wonderful specimens. I like snakes that are pretty to look at, no matter how popular they are within the hobby. I buy snakes for my own pleasure, afterall I have to look at them for the next 15+ years. I am extremely partial to green snakes, shiney snakes, rainbowfied snakes and of course, black snakes!

Argentine Longnose Snake - Philodryas Baroni

Sweetpea - 06 CB Normal Female

Sweetpea is our only green colubrid (for now). She was origianlly part of a 1.1 pair from Mark Wootten, however the male died due to an enlarged heart, a not so uncommon occurance when breeding this species. We may have the only specimen in Scotland at the moment due to the rarity of this species and the fact that only a 2 people have successfully bred them in the UK. This species is indeed rear fanged and mildly venomous, there is one report of death from ANOTHER species in the genus - Philodryas olfersii. We treat her like any of our other snakes as she is a very placid girl. Her temprement is second to none although we do complelty respect the fact she is a semi-dangerous snake and could inflict a serious bite.

Asian Sunbeam Snakes - Xenopeltis unicolour

Oracle - CB 07 Female

We cannot begin to express just how lucky we are to own a CAPTIVE BRED (By Karl Green) pair of Xenos. It's almost unheard of in the hobby! These are a primitive burrowing species of python (apparently) from Asia and one of the most irredescent snakes in the world. Oracle is the larger of the pair and is a fantastic feeder. She is also the more docile of the pair.

Zehn - CB 07 Male

Zehn is the smaller of the pair, but still a fantastic feeder. Males are typically smaller in this species as with many ground boas and pythons. He is less behaved than Oracle and frequently musks... it may be the most awful snake musk in the world - think of  rotten eggs covered in mouldy vomit. Lets hope he grows out of this fietsy phase pretty soon!

Lampropeltis triangulum gaigae - Black milk snake

Noir - 06 CB Male

I are pretty sure that Noir is one of the few and far between (if only) black milk snake in Scotland at the moment. These are one of the biggest species of milk snake reaching lengths of upto 7ft for males. As juvenines they posess typical milk snake tri colours and bands, however as they grow they lose all their colours and pattern to mature into beautiful jet black snakes. For a milk snake his temprement is fabulous and his feeding response is second to none. I am on the lookout for a female, athough I understand how hard this is as it took me almost a year to source one black milk, nevermind a genuine pair. If you have any information on CB specimens for sale please let me know.

He has almost completely changed his colours now! Click the icon for a before and after shot.
