My real passion within the reptile hobby is locality dwarf boas and Pacific boas (Candoia). I only have a few specimens as the locales I adore are far to expensive for me and few and far between. I take great pride in owning some of the boas I do, and I am extremely greatful for the "pioneers" who are out there breeding rare dwarf boas and CB Candoia for the over enthusiastic hobbyist like me. I hope to do the same and provide more and more keepers with these beautiful boas.
Boa constrictor amarali - Bolivian short-tail boa
Brutus: 05 CB Bolivian short-tail boa.
He weighs roughly 2 kilos and measures only 4ft, making him a true dwarf species. He was bred in The Netherlands and imported to
Boa constrictor imperator - Corn Island boas
Beaux: 07 CB Corn Island boa
I have one word that sums up this wee boa... Woa. He was born on the 23rd of May and was bred by Ian Bennett. I believe this was the first breeding of this locale in the UK. His colouration constantly changes from subtle olive green, to dark maroon with aqua and peach highlights and lets not forget that firey red belly and tail!. These truley are island gems and we are so privileged to have 1.2 from different mothers to work with. Beaux has the darkest dark phase I have ever seen on any corn isle...
Clementine: 07 CB Corn Island boa
Clementine is smaller and lighter than Beaux, but is a great feeder and we have confidence she will be a big chunk in no time. Her colouration is generally much lighter than Beaux's which is a nice contrast within the pair. Her orange and aqua highlights are far more pronounced but her tail is just not as fabulous as Beaux's.
J'adore: 07 CB Corn Island boa
This is the smallest of our 1.2 group of Corn Isles. She was bought quite a few months after the initial pair because I loved them sooo much. She has some insane pink and orange colouration down her sides and tends to stay in dark phase most of the time.
Pacific boas
Candoia paulsoni tasmai - Halmahera Island ground boa
Blythe - 07 CB Halmahera Isle boa
When I first laid eyes on a pacific boa, I knew it was love at first sight. Since then I have been avidly searching for well established Candoia carinata and Candoia aspera. Unfortunatley CB specimens are almost impossible to find, until I stumbled across these wee beauties. I had never considered the Halmahera groundboa before, but the colouration, shape and the fact they were CAPTIVE BRED in SCOTLAND was just too much for me to resist. Blythe was born in September and was bred by Linda (SCOTLANDUKBOA). I cannot thank her enough for the beautiful light silvery specimen she picked out for me.
Burton: 07 CB Halmahera Isle boa
A few months after purchasing Blythe, I simply had to fork out and get a male. He is very different to Blythe. He is much more contrasty, darker and fiestier. He is a fantastic feeder and as such is quickly catching up to Blythe.
I am constantly on the lookout for more CB Candoia specimens, please get in touch if you have any available or if you know where to souce some.
