The Church of Monovia

The Church of Monovia is the officially established Christian Church in Monovia. The Church of Monovia, like the Church of England, considers itself to stand both in a reformed tradition and in a catholic church tradition since many of the principles of the Protestant Reformation influences it and that it does not accept Papal authority. The Church of Monovia's practices are mixed since the majority of its congregations worship remains closer to Roman Catholicism, but some of its priciples are Protestant. The Church of Monovia holds many relatively conservative theological beliefs, its liturgical form of a worship is traditional and its organisation embodies a belief in the appropriateness of the historical episcopal hierarchy of archbishops, bishops, and diocesses. In addition to the traditional mainstream, the church also  includes High Church and Low Church, High Church being more traditional and conservative, while Low Church being more contemperary and casual.

The Monovian monarch has the constitutional title of Supreme Governor of the Church of Monovia as well as the authority, though barely exercised. In reality, the administrative leadership of the church is held by the Archbishop of Monovia. Though the Archibishopof Monovia holds administrative rights in reality, he still must get approval from the King himself before making any major decisions. The Archibishop of Monovia also has a type of cabinet, the General Synob, that assist him with administrative decisions.

The Cathedral of Monovia

The Cathedral of Monovia is not only the headquarters of the Church of Monovia, it is also the biggest cathedral in Monovia. It is located in Monovia-ville, about a mile away from Hampton Palace. It holds the office of the Archbishop of Monovia and is the cathedral where all major religious ceremonies and services take place. It is one of the major tourist destinations in Monovia and is a symbol of national unity. It was built in 2006 and is very new so has no history thus far. It was built in the Medieval style and reflects the history and style of Monovia-ville's historic district.

The Lords Prayer

Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us.
Save us from the time of trial,
and deliver us from evil.
[For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours,
now and forever. Amen.]
