Adrian Monk is a homicide detective from San Francisco. He is currently working as a consultant due to his OCD, this ws triggered by the murder of his wife Trudy. His many phobias include heights, heights, children and even milk and he is currently in therapy. His main aim is to solve his wife's murder.

Sharona Fleming was Adrian Monk's personal assistant and nurse, a calming influence who helped him make it through the day. She was always on hand to offer her assistance when even the simplest of tasks became angst-ridden ordeals for Monk. An utterly dedicated employee who often became fiercely defensive when it came to her boss, she also became Monk's own "Girl Friday," an unlikely but effective Dr. Watson to his Sherlock Holmes. Sharona stopped working for Monk when she decided to move back to New Jersey and re-marry her ex-husband during Season 3.

Natalie Teeger is Adrian Monk's new personal assistant, replacing Sharona Flemming. Tough and self-reliant, this former bartender finds herself alternately marveling at her boss's brilliance and suffering through his quirks. And while he drives her up the wall sometimes, Natalie shares one unfortunate bond with Monk - both of their respective spouses passed away, leaving them both to pick up the pieces of their lives.
Natalie has had many jobs except working for Monk. She was a bartender and also a Black-jack dealer, which allowed to advise Monk in the episode "Mr Monk goes to Las Vegas". Natalie also has an eleven year old daughter called Julie who also has a connection with Monk after he rescued her pet fish from death.
Natalie Teeger is played by Traylor Howard. Julie Teeger is played by Emmy Clarke.
Leland Stottlemeyer is Monks former boss. Unfortunately he had to let Monk go when his OCD began to intefere with his work although he still calls upon Monk to help with homicide investigations. The fact that he knows he can never be as good as Monk seems to drive him crazy.

Lieutenant Randy Disher plays partner to Captain Stottlemeyer. More ambitious than bright, Disher relishes every opportunity to bolster the ego and reputation of his commanding officer, and is often the first to rebuff Monk's sometimes outlandish deductions, knowing full well that doing so pleases his boss.
Randy Disher is also willing to do anything for fame. He stared in his own music video, played a part in a hit TV series and also was chosen to be a cat-walk model. But although Randy is ambitious and aims high, he isn't the brightest spark. He lead a gang of chinese assassins right towards Monk, whose was in witness protection, believing that he was in trouble.

Dr. Charles Kroger is Monk’s therapist, a brilliant doctor who lends a sympathetic ear to Monk’s many fears and phobias. Through good times and bad, through all the difficult and dangerous cases, Dr. Kroger is there to provide professional attention and sage advice. With his unique ability to address Monk’s problems, Dr. Kroger plays a vital role in helping Monk maintain his stature as a gifted and prolific detective.
Dr. Kroger is also the therapist to Monks rival,who has the exact same problems as Monk leading in to rivalry.
