About Me

My name is Charles Jarman.  I'm a Dave Ramsey certified Financial Counselor.

How did I get to where I want to help people, beat debt and build wealth?  It wasn't easy.  Twelve years ago, I married my beautiful bride.  She had a house and I didn't so it made perfect sense to move in after the wedding.  My parents gave us a large chunk of cash for our wedding and we spent all of it on our honeymoon.  My wife lost her job and I was working seasonally.  However, we had so much fun on our honeymoon that the next year I decided that we should go to Niagra Falls for a vacation.  It didn't matter that we hadn't saved the money for it, we still had checks AND credit cards.

We were headed downhill and fast.  However, it wasn't fast enough because the next year I decided that we should take a vacation to Tennessee.  Once again off we went without saving the money and loading the cards again.  A car breakdown in Tennessee and another in Kentucky will load your cards fast.

You would have thought I would have learned, but it wasn't until my wife went to work for WMKT 1270 AM, and now 92.1 FM  200 miles of talk radio,  that we heard about Dave Ramsey, on air Monday - Friday 2-4 pm, and financial peace.  And boy did we need it.  We are so fortunate that we didn't become one of the eight out of ten marriages that end due to money fights.

Our pastors wife asked Rene if she would consider leading Financial Peace University at our church.  She said yes and did.  I went because I didn't trust her to not say anything about our finances.  At the end of the thirteen weeks I had heard and learned a lot.  We have now finished leading our seventh, thirteen week Financial Peace University class

We have not achieved financial wealth beyond our wildest dreams yet.  However,  we have learned a lot and are willing to share that wealth of information.   We have also paid a lot of stupid tax.  Stupid tax is doing stupid stuff with your money and wasting it.   We have also eliminated a lot of debt,  ie  credit cards,  car loans,  student loans  etc.   Now I want to help others avoid paying stupid tax as much as possible.

I wish I hadn't had some of these experiences, but on the other hand I'm a much better coach and counselor because of it.

Financial Snapshots began by my wife and I going to Brentwood Tennessee in October of 2006, and sitting under the teaching of Russ Carroll, Dave Ramsey's number one counselor.
